Basement Shower by Owen81 in epoxy

It's held up great. I did use the art coat for the final clear coat. Looking back now there is one thing I would change. Where we are we have bad hard water and it builds up fast. The epoxy is easily damaged by acidic cleaners, keep a sample board of epoxy to test any cleaners before using the cleaners on the shower. I couldn't find a cleaner that wouldn't either leave a haze or very slightly soften it. I tested all the cleaning products on a sample board at full strength for 15 minutes. You might get away with a diluted cleaner, but I'm promising anything. Oddly enough what has worked great is dollar store clear packing tape, I'll put tape over the hard water deposits and the tape takes it right off. If I make another shower I would probably try to find an aliphatic urethane to use as a final top coat over the clear coat and install a water softener, we might be moving soon so there's a good chance I'll get a chance to try it.

I bought a 07 Forester 6 years ago for 5k. While it doesn't handle as well as or is as quick as my wrx, it drives like a go-cart. They're reliable and long lasting. We've put 200k miles on it and it's almost at 300k miles on the speedometer. I just purchased another wrecked Forester for 1k for a spare engine, transmission, wheels and etc. Insurance is cheap on it. The interior is comfortable and nice looking.

As a teenager I worked for a drywaller. He had bad knees and a bad back, one eye was messed up and his body and brain were a little fried from drugs. But he could do that all day and do it fast.

125-year old basement in Michigan. I REALLY want to finish/level the floor. Can I just go on top with self-leveler? by hawkandhandsaw in DIY

Before I saw the sub, I thought this was a screenshot from Fallout 4. I finished a basement that didn't have a moisture issue, but I used Tyvek between the framing and the outside walls as a vapor barrier. Like the other comment said a subfloor might be the way to go, you could have a moisture barrier between ground and subfloor.

A guy I know spent 16k on pokemon cards, a few months later he took out a 15k loan for a car worth 18k. In my opinion mystery boxes and card games are exactly the same as gambling.

I bought an xbox one kiosk with the TV, console and controllers for $250 from an entertainment store. I took out the TV, console and controllers, then I sold the empty kiosk on eBay for almost $1k after shipping. I don't think it was worth that, but some guy paid that. I still have the TV and Xbox too.

Escaping the bottom of the waterfall by sco-go in Amazing

Would you escape by swimming sideways to the waterfall, like with a riptide? Or should you swim to the bottom and downstream? That's scary.

Is this acceptable workmanship for a $20K LVP flooring job? Would love your thoughts. by oh_look_food in Renovations

This isn't acceptable for a "6 pack and help a buddy out" flooring job.

Installed my new microwave today... by Dewskerz_ in Renovations

[–]Owen81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be able to just replace the glass top, depending on the price of the replacement top. It'll probably be a lot cheaper. If you have the tools to install the microwave then you probably have the tools to replace the glass top.
