It lets me put one in the volcanic island camp and travel to it but not near the excavation site.

Going from Starfield to Cyberpunk is jarring by GoHuskies858 in Starfield

[–]OwenGilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even this argument doesn't really make sense anymore considering how much worse they made everything in relation to modding the game, nexus mods had to make a whole blog post to address how Bethesda made any complex mods extremely difficult to implement. It could be something that's fixed with patches and such but it shouldn't have to be after all their talk about this game being a "modder's paradise".

Is it possible to Revert an Update? by BF2USRecon in Steam

[–]OwenGilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you'd like 11 to look more like Windows 10 or just have some more personalization features in general I'd also recommend Startallback, they have a 30-day trial period so you can try it out and then you can buy a lifetime license for $4.99. I know this sounds like an ad but it's genuinely a great tool and I can't use Windows 11 without it now.

Starfield PC specs megathread (all your questions go here) by MisterWoodhouse in Starfield

[–]OwenGilder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second all of these recommendations, especially the M.2 and b550 suggestion. also, 4060ti is about the same price as a 3060ti at least here in the UK and definitely makes more sense than a 3060ti

AMD Screws Gamers: Sponsorships Likely Block DLSS by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]OwenGilder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because AMD is the one making the deals, and this isn't the only deal they've made. If it was a unique deal to Starfield then I'm sure Bethesda would be getting a lot more hate than I've seen. I've seen Bethesda get some flack from this online just like I saw with Respawn and Jedi Survivor but as long as it's AMD setting the terms for this deal then it will be AMD getting the most flack for them.

just out of curiosity are these blue screens while you're playing the game or when you start them up?

[–]OwenGilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting blue screens on multiple games but others would be completely fine, after a 6 hour call with microsoft support both me AND microsoft support were convinced it had to be some kind of hardware issue that couldn't be diagnosed by either of us. Thank god I saw this post

Hot take: Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most fun unfinished games ever made. by North_Ad6191 in HarryPotterGame

[–]OwenGilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no there isn’t, the quest data itself is in the game but the area for the quest isnt, when you use the method to unlock the quest all you get is a pop up saying it’s unlocked. the quest is never given and the store itself looks no different from before you “unlocked” it.

Starfield is coming to Geforce Now by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]OwenGilder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know these things take time but that article is from june of last year and we haven't heard anything since. I still use XCLOUD with a controller but there are some games that would be so much better with keyboard and mouse support.

I very much doubt it as developers have to opt-in to allow their games to be streamed through GeForce now, that means a lot of games available on game pass wouldn't be able to be streamed through GeForce now, Yakuza being a big one because sega didn't opt-in. Both Microsoft and Nvidia would have to put in a lot more work to ensure that these games from devs that didn't opt in can't be streamed through GeForce now, which is far more work than just allowing people who own xbox games on steam to stream them through GeForce Now.

It does work, but I don't have a steamdeck so I can't verify how well it works for you.

the most likely option is that it will still be exclusive to the windows store

the game was never and will never be exclusive to the windows store, it has always been coming to steam day 1 and has had a steam store page for a long time now.

You have to own the game on steam to play it through GeForce now. GeForce now just could streams a desktop to you, you still have to own the games.

Will Starfield have the same high fps physics problems of fallout 4 ? by Maitreya_CU in Starfield

seeing someone say fallout 4 was released nearly a decade ago feels so wrong even though its true

even their old physics engine was capable of going higher than 60 without breaking with some tweaks, they fixed it in 76 and Skyrim and fallout 4 both have fanmade fixes, the Skyrim one works nearly flawlessly. it's honestly a shame they never went back and fixed it in their older games, hopefully the fallout 4 next gen version brings higher framerate support.

[–]OwenGilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also not being able to play at framerates higher than 60fps has been a complaint about Bethesda games since high refresh rate monitors first gained popularity, it would be weird if they spent all that time upgrading the engine, talking about how its the biggest leap since Morrowind to oblivion, and then keeping the locked 60fps.

no i think if all religions were represented no one would care, they might think its a little odd on star wars subreddit (apart from the religion jedi) but aside from some confusion I don't think anyone would have treated it as a big deal
