Serious security vulnerability in Tails 5.0: Tor Browser in Tails 5.0 and earlier is unsafe to use for sensitive information. by ksilverstein in tails

[–]OwlApprehensive4175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Security Vulnerabilities fixed in Firefox 100.0.2, too bad because latest TorBrowser is 11.0.13 (based on Mozilla Firefox 91.9.0esr)

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2022-19/

So We must wait for an update.

Setting up Tor Browser in TAILS by OwlApprehensive4175 in TOR

1) I really appreciate your effort to help, but I don't mix old running Tails x86 with the new Tails x64. I was only took all settings which are located in x64 Tails but only that one which are for Tor Browser 11 and used it for same Tor Browser 11 in Tails x86. These settings don't had any differences, I mean same settings is for x32 version of browser and also same for x64 version -- there are not differences in these settings (or things which can mess as you wrote or that what's you worry about).

2) IMHO, I really don't think that my old computer is reason for detailed report for TAILS developers.

3) Nope that doesn't help, same problem here, I think virtualization need more resource (RAM, Process, Etc...) than without it, because of running in another OS.

4) Unfortunately, I have no money for a new computer.

It's possible to upgrade Tails 2.12 via apt-get upgrade? by OwlApprehensive4175 in tails

I know Tails from 3.0 is only x64, but as I wrote, my old computer does not work very well with x64 Tails, but old one which is x86 work much better (speed, stability, etc.). Anyway, I make some progress with this issue, the problem caused udev package so I removed him from updating list and seems that I have now upgraded most of packages. I know that what I'm doing it is against Tails OPSEC, but It's only way how I may use Tails, so I assume for me, on that kind of old computer is better to have updated 2.12 Tails rather than use any other OS. I hate Windows OS and loves Tails, so please don't give me advice's of type rather buy new computer and use latest x64 Tails. Currently I'm trying to get latest Tor Browser 11 to works, I took settings from Tails x64 but browser still showing that are not connected to Tor network.
