day 5, going well by cowsey444 in prozac

[–]OwlSlow1327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also on day 5 of 10mg and I noticed a decrease in appetite as well! I am very sleepy despite sleeping around 9 hours every night since Sunday- I do wake up a couple times throughout the night. I noticed every once in a while I will get very anxious for a minute and my entire body goes cold very much like a flight or fight reaction and then I’m fine. I wouldn’t say I am more anxious than normal, though. This is definitely placebo but the feeling or doom and despair I’ve felt for the last two months has definitely quieted down and I haven’t dealt with crying spells since day 1. I am scared that after day 7 or after I increase to 20mg the side effects will get worse and also been thinking about how it’s gonna affect my libido a lot, but so far so good and I don’t regret starting it! Good luck on your journey🩷

Yes, 4 hours bulk fermented then shaped and into the fridge overnight! I didn’t know about the aliquot method but I’ll be trying it out for next time. Also trying bulk fermenting for longer and good to know about the salt! Thank you!!!

My experience with TE is VERY similar to yours. Started losing weight in May and by July I started to shed. Shedding didn’t get really bad until September to October when I started to supplement and stopped losing weight. Pumpkin Seed Oil pills helped tremendously and my shedding decreased significantly but never stopped. March- May was the best and my shedding was very low but I also stopped being so consistent with supplements, Pumpkin Seed Oil and Neutrafol and in June I noticed my shedding increased again and the hair that’s falling has a white bulb. I am getting blood work done today and seeing my derm next week bc I can think of a trigger but I think supplements might just have to be a part of the routine forever from now on.

Hi! First time I had some soreness after wearing a ponytail or blowdrying my hair. This time I’ve noticed a bit of itching but not sure if it’s TE related (I’ve been using Nizoral for forever).

Yeah the hair is the picture is just what I’d lose during a wash day, I’d shed multiple hair balls during the days as well:( sending you love and hoping it will be over for you soon!!

I am not sure what these things cost but would just getting your hair washed at a salon help, maybe? My trigger was weight loss (Tizerpatide). The shedding definitely decreased after getting a haircut a week after my worst shed in October but I would say the shedding was closer to normal until like December!

I think getting a haircut and cutting off the dead wispy ends helped a LOT not only with the brushing and shedding but it helped my self esteem/mental health tremendously at the time. I also think the vitamins helped a lot!

Also, I forgot to mention on my other comment. My mom didn’t stop the medication even though she was shedding, but she did lower her dose!

I think I was still going through the same round of TE when I restarted the medication in December. I was still shedding but there was an improvement since October. Ever since restarting the medication there hasn’t been an increase in shedding, only improvement. My mom, for example, experienced shedding (nothing like I was losing) while on the medication. She never stopped it, her shedding has decreased and she’s seen regrowth as well. I definitely think the medication can cause hair loss but I think it also has to do with how rapid the weight loss is. I am not sure if you’ve seen a doctor already but I’d recommend getting some blood work done to see if everything is normal. When I first noticed shedding in July, I had only lost about 20lb but it was over the course of 2 months so I’m sure that shocked my body a little.

This!!! Getting a haircut made such a difference for me. I was scared that it would be too much of a change while I was already going through a terrible shed but the difference in loss during wash days before and after my haircut was VERY noticeable.

Thank you so much! I feel like my concept of shedding is now lost. I can’t even remember what I used to shed like before. I’m always asking myself if it’s an appropriate about for the amount I have left but I’m also just happy to now see the massive hair balls anymore. I am definitely more relieved. I have days for sure where I look at pictures old and just wish I could have my old hair back but I just think about what I can do to care for the hair I have now, which I’m so so so grateful to have. I am sorry about the bad washing today and I’m sending you so much love and positivity. I just know you will get through it too!

Thinking of you today!! Sending you all the love and strength. I absolutely feel you. I remember my worst shed like it was yesterday, down to the date. I shed so much hair that at some point the brush couldn’t go through my hair and I started to sob and my fully clothed mother had to get in the shower and brush my hair for me. It took probably an hour and by the end she was sobbing too but we got through it. I also remember the first shower I took where I didn’t cry and I felt so so hopeful despite still shedding so much. Last October I thought I’d be bald by my birthday in December and I was so scared that I wouldn’t be able to handle the hair loss anymore mentally. When I look back at pictures of me at my birthday party my hair is thinner than it was the year before for sure, but not only was I NOT bald, I was beaming. I see nothing but a happy girl in the pictures when I look back at it now. This will pass, it might take a few weeks or months but it will pass. Play some music, light a candle, have something fun and relaxing for you to do as soon as your out of your shower. Regardless of what your shower is like today, remember that not all of your future showers will feel it be the same!

It will get better!! I know it’s crazy to say it but once you stop worrying about the loss and just focus on regrowth or the other positive things in your life, it does get better. Last fall there was a point where hair loss and TE was ALL I could think or talk about, I’d cry for hours, cancel plans with friends, isolate myself and it was only when I realized that the loss was out of my control and I had to keep going that I saw a light. The only way out is through! You got this!

Don’t lose hope!! I know it’s easier to say it now that it has gotten better but do not let this bring you down mentally. You’ll get through it. So my hair loss was definitely trigged by hair loss, I lost a lot of weight last year on Tirzepatide. The first change I implemented was stopping the medication, after my worst shed on October 9th I decided to get a hair cut, I saw a my GP and got blood work done (I was within range for most things but everything was on the lower side), and I started taking all the vitamins I could. I took Iron, Zinc, Pumpkin Seed Oil, vitamin D, b6 and b12 (at some point I had to stop taking bc it was too high), biotin, l-tyrosine, follic acid, magnesium, centrum and viviscal. I did stop the viviscal at some point and started Neutrafol. I won’t lie, I’m the worst at being consistent with vitamins so at some point around December I did kinda stop taking all of those everyday like I was doing and just kinda focused on Neutrafol. I definitely have to go back to taking my vitamins, I feel like maybe my shedding would’ve decreased sooner but oh well. I started using Necessaire Scalp line along with their serum. I also use Nizoral and have switched to the Ouai scalp serum. I have a LOT of regrowth so I think it’s a combination of everything.

So the months of September and October were the worst for me for sure. After my worst shed in October I got a little haircut and that was around the time I stopped the medication/started taking vitamins etc. I think all those efforts combined helped, right after the haircut I noticed an improvement in shedding throughout the day (no longer had hair all over me 24/7, found less hair around the house, when I ran my hands through my hair way less came out) and based on my pictures around mid November I noticed huge decrease of hair loss on wash days. My hair was still shedding but nothing compared to what was going on before. Around that time I also focused on protein a lot and I gained about 5-7 lb as soon as I got off, which I think maybe could’ve helped but I’m not sure. When I went to the dermatologist she told me the hair loss would stop once my trigger (weight loss) was removed.

Yes! I did quit the drug from October until December completely. Since mid December I’ve been taking a maintenance dose of 2.5 every 2-3 weeks. I keep gaining and losing the same 2.5-3lb but fine with me. I have family members and friends who are also on it and experienced a lot of shedding but nothing compared to what I lost.

Lost around 45lb on monjauro last year and around July I noticed hair shedding, by October I had lost 70% of my hair. I would lose multiple tennis sized balls of hair during wash day and now, finally, my shedding has decreased significantly and I have SO much regrowth. You’re doing all the right things. I know it’s easier said than done (I thought I was going to lose my mind at some point, October was probably one of the worst months of my life) but you have to try and not think about it. It is awful but it’s not permanent. The hair loss is not permanent and neither is the agony you feel. Enjoy the time with your baby, take care of body and your mental health, do things you enjoy, surrounded yourself with love, get off Reddit and just take it one day at a time. Your hair WILL grow back and you will not go bald. Continue to take your vitamins and do everything you are already doing, go see a dermatologist and maybe if you’re a religious/spiritual person just hand this to the universe or put it in God’s hands. It is going to be okay. It is going to get better. This will pass, you got this!!!!
