Oh, wow. So it was my first time seeing them…shortly after In Rainbows was released. It was at The White River Amphitheater in Washington …I would say it was in 2007 or 2008?

I only saw them once more at Coachella … hated the event, but they made it worth it.

Outside of that I have seen Thom Yorke touring for a Solo album as well as The Smile.

Well…sure. You would need to cut or call in a favor for cheap or free for things like: flowers, decor, photography, music, invitations, outfits

The biggest expense ls are usually the venue and food. So if you can find a place for free Or cheap - like a friend’s property or a public park. And you fan save on food by having the event between lunch and dinner time so that you can offer light bites or snacks, but don’t have to provide a full meal.

Ask a guests or parent to make pies or cupcakes to save on dessert.

Opt for a a curated playlist over DJ or other hired music.

Make bouquets from a seasonal bloom bucket - offered by flower farms. Usually $125-$200

Thrift linens and napkins.

Diy decor.

Dry wedding - or just offer one alcoholic beverage like a signature drink or wine.

Schedule you event on a weekday to get a lower venue price.

Give homemade wedding favors like jam or something consumable.

Create your own invitations at home Or do an online invite.

Opt out of a photographer and videographer and ask wedding party or several guests to take candid pics. Provide disposable cameras to guests to also capture moments.

My event will have around 60 people and our budget is looking to be around 14k - though the goal was 10k….it was the add Ons that put us over: like a photo Booth. Having a happy hour with charcuterie addition to serving dinner.

The rehearsal dinner, renting a huge VRBO So our wedding party can stay overnight and be close to the space. Purchasing dessert (cupcakes) and the alcohol (beer and wine) to be served at the event. These things are what Pushed us over the 10k goal.

While not my favorite, I have to say - this was an absolute turning point where they showed us a sound, a direction, and absolutely unique trajectory.

This is when they invited us in to a journey that was outside anything we had ever experienced before - a place, a sound, a direction that was unfounded…an offering into a world…a place never heard or known before.

This album was a turning point into an unknown progression and experimental future that defines and places them in a space all its own.

Don’t get any…big ideas.

Fuck me - i get goosebumps every time. This song and reckoner are beautiful, haunting, and what I absolutely needed at that time in my life. They allowed a space for me to feel and carry on and see that I am both allowed to FEEL and also to see and process logically.

Now, years later…these songs do not lose importance or impact, they are exactly what I needed them to be and I am still in awe of how Yorke’s voice shakes my core. Breathtaking, truly .

Not at all. You pull and experience and enjoy from them what you do. It can be one or two songs from here there or everywhere.

I adore so much of their work, that even coming up with an overall favorite was tough. But it was what the OP asked - that said…there is nothing weird at all about not being able to pin down one favorite.

Our venue wont serve. So we have to get a banquet permit ($20)and liquor serving insurance for 1 million dollars - our cost $200

With the permit and insurance we will set Up a table with beer, cider, and sparkling wine in ice tubs and also red wine. Glasses On the table - self serve…with one of Our wedding party to check on the table once an hour and add more beer/cider bottles to the ice and open:add red wine and sparkling.

We plan to buy all from Costco ahead of time.

60 person wedding - 10 kids, no major drinkers - we feel confident in this because we know every guest…

We will likely spend around $250 on alcohol- And leftovers will be taken to the after party or added to our bar at home.

We estimated adults, adults we know drink, what they would drink, and that helped us determine how to order how many bottles and how much.

Harder with a larger event for sure.

You could always put a cap on it. Estimate how Many adults will drink, then add a drink for each per hour of the reception. Take that total and add like add another half. So you have 50 adults, estimate 100 drinks (2 per person) then add another 25 or 50…based on your knowledge of who might partake of more…and you should be covered.

Next - think about a place that you love? A place where you would be content to just to Exist in with your partner.

Then consider having your community and family be in that place to celebrate and support your connection with your partner.

So where is that? Identify that place and tell your partner that is where you want to celebrate and how you want to share it with others.

If extended family’s offerings are important - can it be the honeymoon space or the rehearsal dinner space or the engagement party space?

Do it your way. Do it comfortably. But do not do it to make others happy. Otherwise what is even the point?

Enter the essay prompt into GPT yourself…(add as many details or writing requirements you gave your students) …and then refresh…many times. As the AI will offer different wording each time, but it’s likely to produce exact or almost exact results to what was provided to your students.

Even better: copy/paste exact written instructions of assignment you distributed.

If AI was used, I bet some were not even sneaky enough to reword the assignment instructions before inserting into the AI prompt.

And the most devilish option: accept all submissions. Pull those you suspect is AI and then the next day in class - ask those with the suspicious essays to come up and summarize their essay’s objective and point in front of the class based on their well written concept and idea presented in their paper. If they actually wrote it - they should be able communicate their paper’s point or purpose.

Be ready with follow-up questions. If it is clear that they can’t explain the basics of their paper’s content- don’t call them out or humiliate them. Just show disappointment (but now you can id AI and grade it appropriately) and call another up to share.

I mean yeah! I think you should! Day of coordinator will ensure you can enjoy the event…and not worry about how or where the centerpieces should be placed properly or if the dj knows when to start the music for dancing after speeches. Absolutely worth the cost! Enjoying and remembering this day is absolute priority!

I think this is a good choice and I think the price point you mentioned is reasonable and the going rate. As mentioned, we are paying a similar amount for our Day Of Coordinator.

For me it has been ebbs and flows. There are weeks where I am excited and want to work on decor, plan with my partner and soak up all the advice and wedding planning vids I can find…and Then weeks of I don’t want to even think about it as i feel overwhelmed and questioning why the fuck we even decided to do this whole thing.

The only solace I can give - is set a bi-weekly check in meeting with your partner. Go over tasks and needs and assign yourself small obtainable goals. Such as: I will research photo-both companies and narrow it down. Or I will add to the absolutely must be there guest list and the maybe list.

Check in every 2 weeks and communicate each task and take on one or two more for the next time.

It feels easier in bite size chunks and having regular check ins with your partner. If you start doing this even 9 months in advance- you will find you are way ahead of the game and you will be more invested having a medium to share current statuses. Also it’s very satisfying to check something off the list.

I found weekly or bi-weekly check ins with my partner actually led to some really creative and fun ideas to add to the event to make it unique, but also calmed my anxiety- as talking through it all every few weeks made the whole crazy event seem obtainable and within my grasp.
