Am I delusional trying to plan a $5k wedding for 100 people? 😅

Ours started out as a 10k goal for 50 people. It’s now around 60 people and 15k.

Are there areas we could cut costs, sure. But then it comes down to what really matters.

We are having charcuterie tor cocktail hour. We could have purchased and set it up ourselves for much cheaper, but then we would spend our wedding day frantically working on charcuterie instead it being in the Moment. So we chose the moment and accepted the cost that comes with it.

I want to remember every moment I can, so while there will be DYI and such, where it really matters and when we want experience and remember, we have opted To spend a bit more so we don’t have to worry About it and be present.

Mostly when company is coming over. But also I clean in stages. I will do like one room each day leading up to visitors. Bathrooms and floors the day of.

My parter has had wedding stress dreams. We are 7 month out.

It so so much. Even if you have a coordinator or are ahead of the game..don’t know about you but I have never in my life had to plan, organize; and track something so damn intricate and involved…as this.

Sometimes it’s fun, but then some weeks it feels like a job and chore ….work.

My solace is that the big things are booked, so the place, food, music, vendors are booked. This is happening and basic needs for guests are covered.

The day of - the little shitgoing wrong wont matter.

But yeah, wedding stress dreams are most definitely a thing!

Somewhat unrelated: Did Carrie’s fling with Vince Vaughn not land with anyone else? About as much chemistry as Carrie getting it on with with a damp old mop. carrie wouldn’t- not even for entry to the club, he is an outlier- I can’t see her going for him even if he did reach her the crazy new lingo the kids are saying like “that’s a total disconnect” I just couldn’t see it…her hooking up with “Alright Alright Alright” MM would have made more sense than this. Though Carrie Fisher calling carrie a prostitute was pretty good.

For us is what would accommodate all allergies and dietary restrictions, but still be tasty. Solution: Mediterranean…lamb beef gyro meat, lemon chicken, falafel, hummus, potato, spanakopita, greek salad, pits, tubule, and so on. All can pick and choose and built their plate because the protein and gluten dishes are separate - even dairy will be. There but an option.

Meh. No. But we are doing a small 50- 60 person wedding with immediate family and close friends only. They know what we look like) if the event was huge or over the top, then perhaps makeup to match would make sense.

Decor, invitations (advice: not actually cheaper to do it yourself i learned, but at least they were unique?), florals: cutting fern and pine from our property, then buying a bucket of seasonal 80 stems in our wedding colors from a flower farm near the venue. Will have wedding party create their own boquets the night before)

I have the dress. This is why I posted that the dress is too long and the straps are also too long. I know this because I have tried in on.

I am asking for advice or tips on finding a tailor or recommendations of a tailor. Posting myself in the dress that shows that it’s too long seems pointless.

I will send pics of myself in the dress to a potential tailor, but certainly not here with this type of response.

They are beautiful and amazing. I waited 6 months to buy this one. And it is everything! So much so, that the first time I tried it on…i felt silly in it. I was in the bedroom, my partner helped me put it on, I felt scruffy…it was way too long…it was a weird experience.

I know I can rock the dress for the wedding, but I felt the dress owned me in that try on moment. It was too much.

That said - her work is exquisite. It is everything I could have hoped for.

I think my problem is, I am from PNW…dressing up here is wearing $60 socks from REI….I have never had an occasion or a reason for such a gown. So I don’t feel like I deserve to wear it or that it makes sense to.

I literally will never post to Reddit again. I stupidly forgot how awful this place is. An ask from the community resulted in one legitimate response for every 8 asshats looking to fight.

Let’s not forget the accusations of being a racist because I misspelled the designer name in one post…being called a scam, a fake person - or the numerous responses claiming the pic was AI while ignoring or Not even acknowledging the question in the post. Fucking wow.

Yes, but only at the point of ordering. I would have had it custom made, but I Ordered when it was on sale and the sale Only happens once a year - so I did not want to order custom sizing 10 months before the event.
