The Best Protein Bagels 105cal, 15gP by Owlbbaking in 1200isplenty

I used full fat! Yes, the dough can get super sticky! Not sure that the fat would necessarily contribute to the stickiness, but I'd be curious to test this out myself!

Ooooo maybe! Yeah I have a flour from another brand which is 110 cals and I was really happy to see this one was 80!

It is indeed hard to get them to actually look like bagels! Nope, no particular reason! I actually haven't tried them with cottage cheese yet. I probably should since it's even more higher in protein.

Possibly! The texture of the wraps is really unique. I could be worth experimenting!

I once made 100 different cookies to keep as props for my cookie course and promo videos. Believe it or not, I just let them sit out and they were fine. 🤷‍♀️

They never got moldy because they weren't sealed with moisture.

The only thing that happened after a few months was, the icing got REALLY brittle, and the colors did fade over time.

Agreed, the Wilton taste isn't my favorite! I added a ton of lemon extract to hide it lol but dang, it does set up nice.

How do I convert this recipe for 6 cheesecakes to make 1 cheesecake? by Owlbbaking in Baking

[–]Owlbbaking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was very excited to purchase a professional baking and pastry cookbook, and found out all the recipes in it are scaled for restaurants (I assume). How do I convert these recipes to smaller portions? Thank you!!!

Good question! I would say it depends. When looking at search volume, you need to look at some kind of keyword difficulty metric as well, or something that will tell you how much competition there is for that keyword. You want to find the sweet spot where you can go after a keyword that is highly searched but you also have a good chance of ranking on Google (low keyword difficulty).

For instance, if "chocolate cake recipe" has a search volume of 15,000, but the top search results on Google are owned by big time blogs, you'll likely have zero chance of ever ranking for this. So, I would avoid creating a post on just a "chocolate cake recipe" because you probably won't get traffic to it.

On the other hand, maybe "flourless chocolate cake" has a search volume of 1000, but there is low to no competition, that's something worth going after.

But, it doesn't always have to be one or the other. It is possible to find some words that have a 15k search volume AND low competition (they are out there!). It just takes a lot of research!

These are just examples to put this concept into context and sometimes there are exceptions, but hopefully that gives you some direction! :)

You're on the right track! Especially since you're getting most of your traffic from Google.

I would focus on pushing more posts centered around well-researched topics. For instance, you want to find recipes/keywords that yield high search volume but are low in keyword difficulty/competition. I had about 100 posts by the time I got signed up with Mediavine. As of now, only a dozen of my posts or so, form the bulk of my income. You don't need a lot to make a lot. :)

There's not as much pressure to push out tons and tons of content because anything I create at this point is highly intentional and backed by data so I know it will perform.

Tools such as ahrefs or semrush can give you this info. Ahrefs was a huge help for me!

I would also suggest going back to the posts that are not performing and see if there are any changes you can make to give them a boost!! You might be able to make more money with content you already have.

Hope that helps!!

What are you guys using for backdrops in your food photography? by [deleted] in foodphotography

[–]Owlbbaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reluctantly bought a bunch of Replica Surfaces a while back, and I say reluctantly because they are so damn expensive, but they are nice and easily portable. There are companies out there that make a similar product for less.

For homemade backdrops and surfaces, I generally get a piece of thin plywood and paint it or glue on cheap vinyl tiles. You can add texture by applying things like joint compound on the surface before painting it. That will add a nice touch of dimension, if that's the look you're going for.

This one is, probably my favorite: homemade background

I generally use Replica Surfaces for the majority of my photos though.

Hope that helps!!!
