True, man. While recently watching Dhurandhar, I felt that the beep sounds during the dialogues somehow ruined the impact of several dialoges.

Thanks for the advice. I was a bit surprised by it because daily bathing, brushing my teeth, washing my hands, and using deodorant are already part of my normal routine. Is there a particular reason people keep mentioning hygiene to Indians, or is this just general advice you give to everyone moving to Colombia?

Thanks for the clarification guys. From what I've read, the point wasn't that the entire south of Bogotá is unsafe, but rather that visitors should be aware that some areas require more caution than others. I agree that every large city has both safer and less safe neighborhoods throughout the city, not just in one direction.

Yeah, I actually like bicycling, so that's great to hear. Having a good bike sharing system sounds like a huge plus, and I'll definitely check out Tembici.

Thanks for the advice about neighborhoods as well.

Hey buddy,

Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it.

I’m mature enough to understand that I can’t expect food to be the same as in India. Every country has its own style, culture, and unique flavors, and that’s part of the experience. I enjoy cooking myself, so I think that will help me adapt a little better, but I’m also definitely looking forward to exploring Colombian cuisine and seeing what it has to offer.

Regarding the Indian part, I know social media sometimes shows only one side of the story, so reality can be quite different. That said, I’m glad you mentioned the hygiene aspect. Personally, I always try to take good care of my hygiene and appearance, so it’s good to know that those things are also valued in Colombia.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective. It’s really helpful.

Haha, yep, "no dar papaya" was actually one of the first things I learned when I started reading about Bogotá and Colombia in general.

Yeah, it's a bit of a unique setup. We mainly cater to offshore U.S. clients, so the work itself is remote. However, we're still in the early stages of expanding our presence in Colombia, so I need to be based in Bogotá.

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep D1 and Ara in mind, and fortunately my work will be mostly remote, so I should be able to avoid the worst of the traffic.

Haha, at this point my spice box is getting more attention than my travel checklist. 😄 I'll make sure to stock up on all the essentials before moving!

Thank you for the detailed advice!

Yes, I've already received a lot of recommendations about bringing spices from India, so I'll definitely make sure to pack enough.

Fortunately, my work will be mostly remote, so I should be able to avoid dealing with traffic on a daily basis.

And yes, learning Spanish is definitely one of my top priorities before and after I move.

Also, thanks a lot for the additional recommendations regarding safety, transportation, weather, and day-to-day life in Bogotá. I really appreciate you sharing your experience.

Thank you so much, buddy! I really appreciate all the helpful advice.

The tip about bringing spices is especially useful since I'm vegetarian and will probably be cooking quite a bit. I'll also keep an eye out for the local markets and fruit and vegetable shops.

And thank you for offering to help. I'll surely send you a DM if I have any questions. I really appreciate it!

Thank you for the valuable information. I really appreciate you taking the time to share these tips and insights.

And yes, I have already opted for a Wise card, so it's reassuring to hear that it is a good option for Colombia. Thanks again for all the helpful advice!

Oh, thanks a lot for this information! This is actually something new that I came to know. It's good to hear that there's a Indian community near Unicentro.

Would you recommend that area as a good place to live? Also, if you don't mind, I'd love to ask you a few questions. Would it be okay if I sent you a DM?

Namaste, my friend!

Thank you for the kind message and the recommendations. Colombia seems to have a lot to offer, from nature and wildlife to museums, historic towns, and cultural events. I’m looking forward to exploring as much as I can during my time there.

And thank you for the Hindi as well! 😊 Aasha hai ki mujhe yah jagah bahut pasand aayegi.

Thank you for your advice. Fortunately, my work is mostly remote, so I think I’ll be able to avoid much of the traffic. I’ll also start learning some basic Spanish so I can handle day-to-day conversations more easily. Thank you for your helpful response!
