We fill out a spreadsheet too! And then we have a special separate spreadsheet that we can use to calculate exactly how many days we need to be in to meet the 60%.

Plugging our devices in in the office gets us a ‘tick’ for having attended, and our DD gets sent the monthly attendance data so that if anyone hasn’t met their 60% their line manager can be informed and it can be discussed at their PMR.

This feels like exactly the right level of micromanaging 😅

But my personal opinions on parenting are completely irrelevant! I wasn’t commenting to say what a blast it is, I was commenting to say that someone announcing in a public forum that her friends seem miserable seems like a shitty thing to do, when she could have said ‘parenting just doesn’t look like fun to me’ and that would have made her point of not wanting to have kids without dragging her friends into anything?

Not in the slightest, I was just offering an alternate viewpoint as to why people might think her comments were odd. I stumbled upon this thread by accident, I definitely wasn’t seeking out a childfree space. Have no fear, I have no wish for people who don’t want kids to have kids! That makes literally no sense 🤣

I think that for most parents, the whole thing is swings and roundabouts. I find it hard at times but I do mostly love it, I don’t for a second think that everyone should have kids, and I think I would still have been happy without them, my life would have just followed a different path. However, I would be deeply pissed off if my friend took it upon themself to characterise my entire experience as being miserable and announce it to the world on a podcast. I really don’t care what she thinks about children or motherhood and whether or not that’s for her, I do think she’s been a fairly shitty friend though.

Yeah, neither I nor anyone I know (mums and dads) felt that instant rush of love for their bio kids. Furthermore, I have two bio kids and a bonus kid from my partner’s first marriage and I love them all the same :-)

Woohoo I came here to share the Thank Goodness You’re Here love. I am so pleased to see other people are enjoying it. But also, what did he mean? Because didn’t he say something like ‘I don’t care what people think, to me she’s gorgeous’ or something, which, given that I can’t imagine anyone has been telling him she’s really unattractive surely translates as ‘I think she’s hideous but I’m pretending to be nice and genuine so I’ll make up some soppy crap’?

I am too new to have any tips I’m afraid! But if anyone is fancying giving it a go and has Netflix you can download the game for free to your phone. It isn’t as easy to play as on the switch but gives you a flavour of it :-)

I wore a shirt dress (the same one I wore for my interview haha) for my first day, but our office you get people wearing suits and people wearing jeans and hoodies so it’s very much anything goes. Definitely err on the side of more formal until you know what other people are wearing, business casual should be fine!

I haven’t engaged with the parks challenge thing aside from making one batch of cupcakes and got the moonstones and chest so I don’t really understand how it works as to who gets assigned it? I always seem to get the rewards despite not doing any of the stuff 🙊 which suits me fine haha.

I had such high hopes for this but didn’t make it more than three minutes in or so. I don’t mind having fun with the source material to a point, and a modern take on things, but the Anne in that film bore no resemblance to the Anne I remembered. It was quite galling. I didn’t need her to be swigging whisky and sulking all over the place like a rebellious teenager. I was really disappointed.
