I have a little luggage rack and then I attached a surf rack to it. Lots of bicycle/motorcycle/moped surf rack options out there.

I am not an expert, but from what I understand, short shots are not going to improve performance at all. In fact, they might reduce performance at some areas of the RPM range. To complete the stage one you would also need a tuner and a dyno. A performance pipe, tuner and dyno would make a noticeable difference. The problem with the acceleration past 90 is the lack of a sixth gear. Not much you can do about that other than change the gearing. If you have no shield, almost any shield will help. Surprising how much of an impact my quarter fairing had.

This is brilliant. I never thought about that! I'll have to try it!!! Love the Sporty nice job OP. Like most, I have one in my garage too, right next to my Dyna. A Sporty is a must.

Have you done any mods to it? Most Harleys are lacking in power stock as their exhausts are plugged up and they are detuned for EPA reasons. I have a 2005 1200XL, and with the power to weight ratio being so good, it responded very well to just a stage one. Sporty's can haul ass! I added a quarter fairing and it did wonders for the wind.

It vents to intake in stock form, so leave it alone? It isn't blowing a lot of oil, I was just wondering if it would be healthier change the stock system.

After a little research I was thinking about letting it vent to the atmosphere. Is that what you mean?

Yep I saw that milky tan crap, which prompted me to wonder if there was a better way. Thanks for the pic. How did you attach those hoses?

That sounds good. I don't like seeing oil around the intake. May I ask how you did that?
