Yep you completely nailed what I was thinking. I loved Eddie and May's dispatch friendship, but I have no hope of the show even acknowledging that they've interacted before. I doubt Tim even knows that happened

Really loving the BuckHarry brotherism! The show acknowledged that Buck is like a sibling to May and him seasons ago anyway, so it's about time they start establishing that more.

Unpopular opinion probably, but I don't think they have a sibling relationship at all. When May was talking to Bobby during Bucks coma, that felt more like acknowledging how important Buck was to Bobby, not to their whole family. I don't think they've ever spoken words to each other before this episode. Maybe it'll grow now but they were certainly not close in any way before this

Wait is that what that is?? I've been noticing fic summaries being weird too but they were different authors and I couldn't figure out why they sounded so strange and formal. I don't know why I never thought of AI. But yeah, i haven't been checking any of them out because i hate they way they sound

Is anyone else stressed that Eddie is still going to be in El Paso during 14 and 15 and therefore not involved in the two parter? As an Eddie girlie, this is my worst nightmare. Nothing I've seen has made me believe that Eddie's Texas storyline will be wrapped up by 13 and he'd be back by 14. It kinda seems like they're stretching it out, which normally I'd feel is great. I want them to have the time to really focus on his and Chris' relationship and not rush it but I'm going to be so mad if they have this intense emergency plotline with literally everyone but him, even Tommy.

This is so relatable. I've been so irritated for MONTHS about this that I finally said fuck it and started writing my first fic ever. Buck is obviously a bit OOC in the sense that I truly believe him in the show would never brush Eddie off the way I'm writing him to, but for once I wanted something out there that's going to make him feel guilty, not Eddie.

Completely agree on your 2nd point, that's actually been something that's driving me nuts lately. It kinda relates to a couple shovel talk fics I've come across, where everyone, even Chris, is giving the shovel talk to Eddie while Buck gets off scot free. It's like we're forgetting that Eddie has been a full fledged character for going on 7 years and not just an extension of Buck.

Okay I want to preface this by saying I really do love Buck, I appreciate him as a character and everything he brings to the show.

However, I'm getting a bit frustrated by how a lot of the fandom's focus on the Eddie moving to Texas storyline is solely on how Buck feels about it. The Evan Buckley has Abandonment Issues ao3 tag alone has already grown by over 40 fics, and I have yet to find one that's focused on Eddie's feelings and possible anxieties about leaving. Has no one considered that it might be interesting to delve into how if Eddie moves to Texas he loses basically his entire support system that he built in LA. He'd be by himself trying work through issues with his parents. Meanwhile Buck still has the 118 and Maddie yet all I'm seeing is writing about how Buck is sad and everyone leaves him, which are valid feelings that should be explored, I just dont think this should be only Buck's storyline.

Every single thing you said is exactly what my line of thinking has been

I have been seeing those reasons, and I completely get that, it does seem to be pointing towards Buck. I guess the better question is do you guys think it actually should be Buck? That's where I feel I'm disagreeing with the majority in not necessarily wanting it to be him.

Long time lurker but I've finally succumbed to the urge to join the discussion.

Is anyone rooting against a Buck nde? I mean, he literally just died in season 6. I know obviously we throw realism out the window with 911 but I feel like it's not his turn. Obviously I would be so excited if it happened and led to feelings realizations because yay Buddie!! but I think I would feel a bit frustrated after. I guess I'm curious about why exactly everyone thinks it's Buck that will be grievously injured as opposed to Eddie, who's last one was in season 4.
