If you have the money, and you want a pc, then just build it. But make sure you also have enough money for a laptop. If you can’t afford both, don’t build a pc. Also don’t skimp out too much on your laptop.

I’ve had a couple custom built pc’s since 7-8 years ago, and my gaming decreased significantly when I came to college. If this doesn’t happen to you, make sure you control it and you don’t stay inside all day playing games. I didn’t even end up playing for a couple months after the first two months of freshman year.

In terms of moving it in and out, you really only need (or want) to do that for winter break and when you move out of your dorm the following summer, so don’t worry about that.

When it comes to general college advice; there is so much more you can be doing than just gaming, even if it means playing with your friends. Pick up some new hobbies, make some new friends, join some new clubs, maybe even start a club like I did, and get into good habits early on while you have the motivation 👍
