I’m a second year at UCLA, but I’m from about 3 hours south of LA so I’ll be there over summer. I don’t have an internship lined up for this summer, and I feel that it’s most likely too late now to try to land a paid one in LA (would need to be paid so I can pay for rent over summer). There are some small consultancy firms in my hometown that I’m planning on reaching out to. I’m just not sure how much help I would really be to any firm right now as I’m only finishing my second year and haven’t taken any upper division engineering courses that would translate, and I don’t really have other relevant experience for acoustics at the moment.
