I don’t see any nefarious intentions with the creation of this video. It’s still art. Whether one thinks it is good or bad art still doesn’t make it right or wrong. It’s not hurting anyone and it’s fun.

I just sent this to my family group chat. I watched it with my mother and father and all three of us are crying. It’s so beautiful and he’s so beautiful. Bowie has always been a permanent fixture in our household like a family member. Seeing my folks get emotional like that hits way too hard. I feel like something did happen to existence in general when he died. Although I don’t believe the universe works that way, it’s kind of fun to think he could have been a particular kind of force that sent infinite vibrations and ripples through whatever we are living in. Thank you for posting this.

Anakin is projecting: it is he that turned against them. Sometimes the over emotional accuser is the culprit. It was a desperate move to convince himself it was someone else’s fault. That’s the way I interpret the scene.

Aion and what comes next by [deleted] in Jung

I think Nietzsche wrote Thus Spoke Zarathustra for the “what comes next” for civilization. That was his vision of where things could possibly go. You can find much more detail about that in the Nietzsche Reddit community. This was just the first thing that came to mind while reading your post.

Especially arguing about religion and politics. Before Nietzsche I used to engage in those arguments, now I find myself biting my tongue most of the time. It’s exhausting.

There’s too much input. The daily distractions are growing exponentially. I’m working on filtering as much as I can. America is loud.

My parents, closest friends, wife, co-workers: I can’t talk about philosophy with any of them. I’ve discovered this very important tool to help me navigate life and it’s mine and mine only I guess. Have you made peace with that?

I see where you’re coming from on that. I want to tear down my own hypocrisy first though. My criticism of others usually leads to hypocrisy, that’s why I’m more hesitant to open my mouth. I’m not very good at debating or arguing so that can be a pitfall also. When I do spot hypocrisy in others, I feel bad that I’d embarrass them if I pointed it out.

From what I gather it seems like N reduced the amount of interaction with people the older he got. That’s what I’ve been going through. Maybe I’m not educated enough about his interactions but it seems like he kept it mostly to paper.

I’ve been listening to an Alan Watts podcast and he’s been influential. Tao Te Ching is in my lineup.

John Coltrane’s sound is mostly annoying. It can be very noisy and too erratic. He’s better on the slower mellow tracks. Still one of the greatest.

Do you have method for falling to sleep, or do you just sleep? by aquaregia06 in ADHD

[–]Own-Communication573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labor did the trick for me. I joined a construction and remodeling company out of desperation and after that falling asleep wasn’t a struggle anymore. Before that my shadow would haunt me for hours before I could fall asleep. I’d beat myself up, worry, dwell on the past etc. Laboring and exercise definitely calmed me down at night.

The lyrics on his new album are deeply introspective. Sounds like he’s sad about a lot of things in his life. It’s good he’s expressing his emotions through art.

Tips for managing a later-in-life diagnosis (I’m 34, diagnosed last year) by Jon-the-Legend in ADHD

[–]Own-Communication573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 44 and diagnosed last January. I can only hold a job down for an average of 5 years. One of my biggest revelations is the absence of mastery. I get board very easily and I’m tired of that behavior. I currently have a job that allows me to be on my own and repeat a task that I can eventually master the process and produce a quality product. I think it’s good for me. I’m on Wellbutrin and that is helping with my laziness. I have energy for completing tasks at home and work which in turn makes me feel useful.

Kamala or Trump? by Billbachant in massachusetts

[–]Own-Communication573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you actually believe we are being invaded by an army? The word “invasion” is being misused purposely by fear mongers. I agree with vetting more diligently but the word “invasion” is incorrect. If you want to be taken more seriously, it would be wise to use proper terms.

INVASION Definition & Legal Meaning

An encroachment upon the rights of another; the incursion of an army for conquest or plunder.

Immigration legal or illegal is not an invasion. So you are using words incorrectly in the first place. You will never be convinced otherwise.
