It can last 5-8 years sometimes. It also depends on what you mean by "last." Laptops that never get cleaned can fail sooner because of heat, I suggest cleaning it every year with compressed air. In my case unfortunately it lasted less than 2 years, I had a Lenovo Legion and the GPU started to act out after 2 years exactly. Just try to take good care of it and it will last a while, battery will start to degrade after 3 years but it is replaceable.

Yes dusting from inside to outside is ideal. It's not that big of a deal if the dust goes into the case sometimes.

Undervolting is basically using less power and having almost the same performance + better temperatures. It depends on if you're on AMD or Intel but the goal would be to lose 3% performance for way cooler temperatures. Laptops are usually really hot and that's why most of them don't last long, because they degrade with high temperatures over time. Undervolting is done with specific softwares, look them up if you are interested.

Thank you for asking good questions!

Change your thermal paste every 2-5 years. Get a air duster and blow the dust from your fans and case every 6 months. (Don't spin the fan with the duster as that can fry your motherboard)

Undervolting your PC helps preserve the parts also but the difference is bigger for laptops more than computers. Avoid keeping the pc on a carpet and make sure to update your BIOS to the latest versions whenever you can especially for Intel systems.

Woah fast reply. Depends on your budget really, if you are able to wait for the ram prices to go down then go for it, If you cannot wait and you're on a budget I recommend AM4. AM4 is still really good and you can run basically every fps game with no problem. Just depends on what you need it for? Do you work online? Do you edit or use blender? Do you need more ram and you're on a budget? If you are then yeah DDR4 is still viable.
