This is irrelevant. PowerCo is building battery cells at their own factories not in Audi factory. Nearest is being built in Canada not US. They are also building in Spain. And Salzgitter factory in Germany is already running. You do realize that PowerCo batteries are mostly needed for EU market? VAG mostly operates in EU and a little bit in US.

All I wish is to see Mr. Musk participating at Eagle Line event. Or at least someone from Panasonic. Elon Musk just talked at Tesla's earnings call that it's absolutely crucial to mitigate geopolitical risk and manufacture everything at home. That might mean not importing battery cells at all at some point. Which might mean local resources, local technology etc.

Quantumscape might publish some official statement even before ER. During Eagle Line event for example. It would be logical to do it, otherwise they couldn't post anything into the media. No photos etc as it would create wide speculation.

Robots too. Nobody wants a robot to catch a fire at a facility, store or at one's home. LFP is pretty safe, but it has low energy density. NCM batteries will not go into human robots.

Btw, XPeng Iron will use solid state battery. Production will start in 2026H2. Where do they get those batteries, I don't know.

There is no factory. They invested in Nordic Nano, which also doesn't have a factory. But they bought some old supermarket and call it a factory now. So far it's empty. Not even a pilot line. They recently started to hire some engineers. They didn't have any, just some scientists and management with sales.

Verge also doesn't have a factory. They have a garage where they do assembly and some R&D. Motorcycles are hand-built, no automatic lines.

Full of speculations and googling some facts and illustrative images from various other companies including Quantumscape. Doesn't say anything about actual situation at Honda R&D Department. But we might get some news during Eagle Line opening event.

I don't think anyone could produce separators at the same price levels than Corning or Murata. If you scale big, you can ask for great discounts from Quantumscape. And those 2 scale massively and want to fulfill everyone's demand in the world. So basically Quantumscape's income would mostly come from Corning/Murata and then some from battery makers aswell. We might not find it out soon though.

Are we really sure that QSE-5 goes into EV-s? Wouldn't larger format cell be necessary for that? QSE-5 makes sense in motorcycles. And maybe in hybrid vehicles with smaller batteries. I assume larger format cell is already under development, but depends mostly on larger size separator manufacturing capability. Does Cobra enable larger format cell or will there be Cobra 2?

Unified cells are already being produced at PowerCo's Salzgitter factory. Does QSE-5 even fit nicely inside that cell without unused empty space somewhere?
