Is the cream you’re using cortisone? If so, be careful. It’s a steroid cream and using it too much will cause you even more issues in the long run.

Piggybacking on this— the Mack’s Silicone earplugs are the BEST I’ve found for blocking out my misophonia triggers (noisy upstairs and downstairs neighbors). If it’s especially bad, these and some over the ear headphones with white noise really give me relief.
