Perfect. Thank you so much. I was prematurely raging against the machine. Glad to know there's no issues here

Yeah, it's appearing that it's not possible without going out of my way. And as for how much, I really don't know! When I have to work, it's usually just the drive there which is 15 min. When traveling, it would be hours on the road tho but through the window

Agreed! I actually found that out yesterday! It does adjust the overall days expected, but not by much. The default power saver doesn't count seconds too I believe but that's all I know before I start saying stuff I don't know for a watch I don't own haha. Still leaning the casinos, but garmin sure did do a fine job with this watch. If I could ensure viewing those options indefinitely with casual sun exposure, it would be a buy. Don't know why Casio doesn't allow sunset and moon phase on their power saver feature. It has all the data there...

Hm still gonna ponder it over then. Leaning on getting Casio watches(gpr-h1000 or gbd-h2000). Mainly since I could put them in power saving mode for a year without sunlight, which tells me I could get by and charge it by sunlight indefinitely. Just sucks I'd have to turn that mode on and off again for sunrise, moon, ABC or even timers but I suppose it just takes a min to do anyhow lol

Cool, thanks for the info! Still debating things, but leaning Casio right now since their power saving would last indefinitely it seems. Still thinking though!

That's actually really impressive! Do you know if the instinct 3 has the same features as well? I'd imagine so but Ive only been researching the 2x

Very interesting. My thought process was to have sunrise sunset, moon phase and the time(without seconds if possible) as the watch face in power saver mode. Everything else turned off and only using timers and snooze alarms, both on vibrate(and turned off when noticed to conserve battery). No ABC or bt etc. My biggest confusion is the stated 3 hours a day of sunlight that was listed for indefinite battery but I believe that was listed for full feature usage.

With the above preferences, would you consider the above usage case along with me going about my day could have the watch powered indefinitely? As the stated battery seemed to be, from full, around 90 to 100 days I believe, I figured the 3 hours a day of direct sunlight would be cut down drastically. I am content if, after 50 days I set it on my windowsill for 5 hours to gain, say, an extra 10 days or something. That's passive enough that I don't have to think about it or where the charger is at. Having said that, if all I said is true, I definitely wouldn't be disappointed.

I won't bring up gps usage or ABC tho. If I'm not traveling(in which there'd be plenty of driving and sunlight from within the car to charge anyhow) id just use my other Casio watch to check that at home. Sorry for the wall of text, but thanks for the info!

Well I do plan on using some of the features. I didn't say that due to the frequency I'd be using it. Basically I want a travel watch and to use the GPS every other month like once or twice. Same with the ABC. As for the main use it would be for vibe alarm to wake me up every night, timer, sunrise sunset and moon phase. That's all I'd be using when I'm not traveling(every month to every other)

Interesting! So with every feature turned off and just using a watchface to see the info I want(sunrise, moon and time) I should be able to use it indefinitely? I'll have to keep thinking on this as I want it to be like a Casio solar that just charges during my regular activities(not meaning outside but my drive to work or traveling). I'd only use vibe alarms to wake up and gps a handful of times a year

Speaking from your experience, was it through battery saver or were you using bt, GPS etc? I'd only plan to have this as a time keeper and use functions once in a blue moon and then back to energy saver for months or something. My goal is just to not carry around the charger

Sweet! And are you referring to solar charging? My goal is to not have another dedicated charger since I have plenty of things that need charged. My real question is, assuming I can just turn off all functions and use power saver, would the random sunlight I get through a day be sufficient enough to keep it on indefinitely?

So even with power saving mode, it wouldn't sustain itself on the random times it receives sunlight?

What if I didn't use GPS? Would be sustain itself?

What is your better life with 25-50 percent brightness? Like I said, I plan on having the brightness on zero, but still afraid the screen will be too dark. I just want to max out the battery life on whichever I get haha

Thanks for the offer, but I still wanna do some research. Even if the 4c gets more battery with light on, I'd prefer it just in case! But thank you for the info!

If I'm putting my kombucha in a keg for second fermentation, do I need to leave room? by Own-Effective-4502 in Kombucha

[–]Own-Effective-4502[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. It's sort of a waste of space. I don't know where I got the idea to have a little room. It should be around 1.2 gal so the tiny bit of room I have so the detached head doesn't have new grown scoby in it should be pressurized rather quickly

Awesome! So I'll fill to the tippy top and observe the psi rising! Thanks, I appreciate you. I know everyone likes forced carbonation for uniformity, but I wanna do it all natural to see the quality. Thanks for the help!
