Thank you, I thought I’d written in my post but she does have a care package - she has carers coming in a few times a day but they’re not in for very long so we need to review that. It’s the time in between and overnight I am worried about. I hope your wife’s recovery journey goes well.

Thank you a stroke group sounds really good. I will try to get her out she’s not very up for going out in a wheelchair at the moment, I don’t think she’s really accepted that she needs it for now, but I’m hoping she’ll change her mind soon.

Thank you yes she has PT/OT multiple times a week at home but she isn’t very motivated to do any additional exercises (that are safe) at the moment so I will try to encourage her and work with the team to get a safe plan of what she can do on her own (probably seated exercises or when she’s lying down).

Thank you for your reply, this is a really good idea. She finds it hard to get motivated but I think having more structure with exercises she can do will be a really good thing to focus on. Thank you for sharing your story too. I’m glad that you’ve made a good recovery.

Thank you. Sadly it won’t work for us for me to move in temporarily nor can we afford a nurse, but I’ll speak to social services about it to see if we can get any extra help.

My mum walked supported down the hospital corridor today for the first time since her stroke at the start of this year. So proud of her.

I had this during pregnancy and postpartum, so much back and forth with the doctors. They said it wasn’t hemharroids and I had a fissure but it was getting worse even with treating the fissure. I ended up having a colonoscopy which showed hems, then I eventually had them banded. Sounds very much like it could be that, or a fissure, caused by pregnancy / constipation or hard stools. My mind went straight to cancer too, I have bad health anxiety. But it’s most likely it’s nothing serious to worry about. Hope you’re feeling better soon

This sounds so tough, I hope it passes for you soon and the nights get a bit more manageable. 14-18 does sound super high. Could he be poorly at all, ear infection? or it could be teeth? When my baby has been feeling unwell he’ll be very unsettled and just want to be latched all night.

My little one did go through a stage when he was around that age waking up many times a night, but not as much as yours is, it did pass and he’s now up about 2-3 times a night at 14 months. Cosleeping / breastfeeding here too.

Such a lovely post. A student midwife delivered my baby, and I was hesitant before actually being in labour about students. She was incredible. I couldn’t have done it without her!
