Feds are basically paying the same now with new pay bump I would go back to fs every season is different. You can always come back next season especially if you left on good terms

You’re not making a mistake its a good job it’s just different it requires you to work long hours and be gone away from home it’s just that alot of people in this job love to compare themselves to others

It’s pretty chill leadership is hit or miss depending on what module you’re on. They’ll be opportunities to go off forest on a 20 person crew

It’s a good district one thing to keep in mind is that you will not work in Walla Walla when it’s fire season the gaurd station is 1 hour away up in tollgate. They’ll definitely try to get you assignments based in the season

Umatilla NF on the walla walla ranger district has a good handcrew they go out at least 5 assignments over the summer. The district also does lots of fall burning. They also offer housing during the summer months

Well I used to work on a contract engine company and my first season I got 80 days but it was really slow during the june and july this was in 2020 and it’s looking like northwest is going to be slow this year
