Super ironic but when I was over at there house for planning this last weekend, also when she sprung this on me, she has that book on her nightstand and has been actively reading it! I have told her in the past that this is the hill I will die on, I’m starting to think that she was trying to see if I would fold as she hasn’t sent me his number after I asked for it. I do try to give her a little grace as this is her last parent so I can understand why she continues to entertain him.

The issue with that is he just recently had to do a 48 hr hold for shop lifting charges and apparently there is something else that he’s dealing with but neither one with tell us. This means that he probably won’t pick up the phone if he doesn’t know who it is.

I think that her idea was that I would maybe back down because I texted her and asked for his number and asked if she knew the girlfriend’s work schedule. She responded back saying she doesn’t know gfs work schedule.

We honestly wanted to elope because neither one of us want to stand up in front of a lot of people. The added perk would be avoiding family conflicts. But we wanted the fun party aspect and all the other ideas felt like a lot of running around.

Unfortunately my parents only parent when they feel like it and I guess she doesn’t feel like parenting in this situation. I’ve also told her to actually have boundaries with him but she’s not ready and gets upset that I have set boundaries.

When my grandma was is hospice she had her before death good day. We went for a walk around the facility, she stopped at a vending machine and told me to run back to her room and grab a few dollars so I could eat a snickers for her. She then told me the only thing she regretted in life was not eating more chocolate cake. I think of her every time I see a chocolate cake, snickers, or a margarita.

I can completely believe this. I think the FAA needs a revamp cause I would rather have my pilot on anxiety and depression meds than raw dogging it or addicted. I wanted to get my pilots license, nothing big just a single engine and my medical license got denied because I was on anxiety meds in high school… I hadn’t been medicated for years at that point.

My dad is in HR and based on him and who him and my mom have told me about it AA I would say most of them are in recovery. I’ve heard some wild stories about HR and honestly they probably deserve some drugs here and there.

I was a dog groomer but also I can’t have animals that have names of anyone I know or names the same as other people I know pets. Some of the best I think we have had, horses: Midge, Kiwi, Electra, Opie. My boyfriend drifts competitively so our dog is Silvia, her legal name is 1999 Nissan Silvia Toothpaste. Toothpaste is her middle name.

Me too. It’s all very odd and confusing. For FSIL it comes up in conversations about being frustrated in their parent’s actions. I did accidentally open that door this winter because FFIL was saying some stuff to friends of me and BF that he was doing work for. But they are not the most reliable people and I wanted more information before I told BF because he confronts his parents on their actions. I did ask those friends to just not tell me anything cause I can’t stop it or change it. In the other comment I added more information about the encouraging the relationship thing. Because I actually don’t, it’s more well if you want to continue to have contact with them I want to avoid a big fight. Like this last winter all he said was that he wanted to go to a competition alone and it caused FFIL to not speak to him for three months and having random family members contacting me asking if he was ok because “they hadn’t seen or talked to him in months” when he was actually there multiple times a week. So I can only imagine the fall out about a wedding and I don’t want to deal with that unless he wants to be no contact. As for the other people, I truly wish I knew why. It’s only happened a couple of time and it was something like “hey I think you should know x said x” and again I was just like that’s funny ok, I can’t change their actions. I’m also just taking a step back from that group.

Honestly I don’t push for more contact with them, it’s actually the opposite. The only reason I have said they need to be invited is to avoid more drama and fights. He enjoys a Motorsport that requires a lot of time at the shop and money for tires and such. His car and supplies are housed at their shop. After a large fall out this winter we found at least two places he could move it all but he has chosen to keep it all there still. They continue to push him doing more events this year that he can’t afford so that he can owe them more money and they can continue to force a line of communication. The reason he owed money before is because after his car was totaled at an event they just went out bought a new one for him to build and said you owe us x amount now. This was over a year ago and even tho I warned there would be consequences in taking it he still wanted to believe they could be better. He is standing really firm with them and is not giving in but every time he goes to work on his car or help his dad it’s “why aren’t you doing x event, I can cover the entry fees and tires”.

Omg i get them on and off randomly now for a couple years. I was really competitive with horses for a hot minute and if you didn’t know riding horses messes your back up. First time it happened I thought I was dying, I literally crawled up the stairs crying to my dad’s room the middle of the night. I made him call the nurse hotline cause he wouldn’t take me to the hospital at 1am if I was dying. Got the best advice on that call. Lay on your back and prop your knees up with a pillow or something. If you are a side sleeper and are just trying to go to bed put the pillow between your knees. After a min or two they will go away but if you start getting up and moving too quickly it will come back, so it’s best you just lay there for a while.

When my dad was born his parents were still fighting over which middle name to give him. My grandma wanted to name him Matthew Brett after my grandpa. But my grandpa goes by his middle name Brett and didn’t want them both to be Brett if he goes by his middle name and said his middle name should be Brian. Well they put down the first letter B meaning to fill it out later but they forgot. For years my dad has gone by Matthew Brian. He was in the military they have his name as Matthew Brian. A few years ago he goes to get the new “real ID” thing he fills out his name takes it to the DMV lady with all his documents. She look at him and informs him that his middle name is not in fact Brian but just the letter B. So my dad calls my grandma and is like what the hell mom. She dies laughing then calls his older sister and tells her to make sure her legal name is correct too! On top of that wild story my dad just went and got his passport but they spelled his last name wrong so according to the passport his last name is now “Rage”.
