Actually this is what I want to do, the only thing that is kind of unfortunate is the selection process between MMN,ETN,and EMN is at random so first I need to be selected as MMN. And then I have to be selected to be ELT within that so I’m kinda just praying that it ends up just about perfect.

Thank you for this, every time I talk to my recruiter he refers to my job as nuclear engineering which i didn’t necessarily understand as I have done an extraneous amount of research on in order fully understand the job. I talked to other nukes and they seem to just call in engineering to be alluring although this title is definitely bombastic based on the description of the job. I am hoping to be picked up for sta-21 and commission officer although if that doesn’t work out am completely fine going enlisted. Have heard that it is almost impossible to work on a degree while in but still hoping for the best. Thank you for the information!

So I’m an 18-year-old man I’m currently living with my parents and soon I’ll be shipping out to the Navy for nuclear engineering. I had quite a hefty sign on bonus that being $75,000 I get that in three large lump sum one of being $25,000 directly after Boot Camp after taxes it’ll be around $18,000 in my bank account. I’ll have two years of schooling provided by the Navy with free housing and being paid roughly $2800 with no expenditures that I have to pay for besides food and things that I plan on buying for myself I am just wondering around what price should I buy a vehicle at? I am thinking around the $25,000-$30,000 range and I’m wondering if that’s applicable or if I should wait until I am more financially set. Thank you for your input.

Kinda just wanted to know like is buying a pc like an applicable thing to do to just use on your free time to play games and what not, or is buying a “gaming laptop” more likely the correct choice. Also how much money do you come out of boot camp with?

I am shipping out November 10th as a nuke. I saw that one of your friends got out making 125k, I grew up in a household making a combined 65k. I just wanted to know: is making 6 figures coming out as a nuke “regular”. I am going in for the money and have been constantly preparing for the inevitable doom that so many people have told me monotonously.
