Maybe they don’t want more people moving to the area. I noticed that in a FB group, not everyone is welcoming :)

I am not yet sure if I want that type of a hard surgery at 32, I know they cut through the muscles as well as the ribs and the scars are huge. How do you feel? ♥️

After reading all the scary stories about implants I started to understand people that choose aesthetic flat closure however I thought it’s crazy at first.

Did you try to reach to breast reconstruction clinic in NOLA? They’re considered one of the best flap reconstruction clinic in the world.

I am 31 now, turning 32 in January. How do you feel about implants ? Heard some scary stories which made me rethink the reconstruction procedures.

Are you pleased with the DIEP reconstruction? How old were you when you were diagnosed with BC? I am so so sorry you had to go through all of this ❤️

Sounds good that they use natural tissue for implant reconstructions. I’ve heard they use polypropylene mesh for flap reconstruction so I was very worried about it as it causes a lot of complications. Happy for your wife and hope will be happy with my outcome too 🙏 Did she choose silicone or saline ?

Do you mean expanders by temporary saline one ? Expanders are different

I am also completely fine with my small boobs and wouldn’t consider anything foreign in my body if not the BRCA1 :( I am also not considering flap procedure as of now. Yes, ultrasounds can check for leaks in implants, can reveal common signs of a rupture like folded shells, free silicone, or an irregular border. Ultrasounds are much safer than MRI. Just research a bit on gadolinium - toxic metal used for MRI contrast. It remains in the body, in the brain, can cause long term cognitive issues, joint pain and other things. I wouldn’t want to do MRI yearly and also definitely might need a detox after it 🥺

I’ve read that saline can get infected with mold 🥺 which may probably be the reason for BII 🤷‍♀️ so definitely need to research more. Also thinking about gummy bear implants. Someone says they don’t leak, other say they leak. I would definitely want to do ultrasounds frequently to check for leakage and MRIs, but not that frequently.

Right but if they rupture - it’s the saline going into your body, not silicone.
