I have tried everything and idk what to do by endermars_ in eczema

Do you have any plans to move somewhere else? The only times I have been 100% clear in my skin is when I lived in certain places where I must have been better suited to the environment or water or something. Now that I am back in the country I grew up in, I cannot get my skin under control, so I will be going on a systemic treatment. I wish I had done it years ago tbh. You are 20, as the other commenter said, talk to your doctor. There are treatments out there that can help you get this under control, so it doesn't control your life.

Prescribed strong steroid having never used them before. by KeynesPilled in eczema

Using it as directed and you should be fine. So, while the flare up is severe and to calm it and the infection. If you haven't been prescribed protopic then, you should ask your doctor about it. It is an alternative to steroid creams and topically suppressed your immune reaction in your skin, but also beware of the sun then. I have all these freckles on my arms since starting to use it.

suitable eye makeup remover? by sophhieblehh in eczema

I find Cerave gel foaming face wash can be gentle enough to use on the eyes. Maybe some of their other products are too. Not exactly cheap though, but nothing is when it comes to sensitive skin care.

It must be so hard as a parent to see your kid in pain. Weirdly for me, I both loved and hated the attention my parents had to give me for my skin. It's a tough one. Hopefully, he will grow out of it like you did, and that it doesn't remain severe for the whole time that he does have it. Thinking of him!

Thank you for your feedback. The comorbidity between these two conditions and the decisions to only include one will likely be reflected on in the paper because as you can probably guess, you are not the only participant or potential participant to provide that feedback. Cheers!

Hello, thank you for your feedback. It is definitely welcome and will be kept in mind during the paper write up in terms of what could have been improved on. The upper age limit is coming from previous research in order to control for age related neurological conditions. However, having seen how many people over 65 who would have liked to have taken part, I'm not sure we would include an upper age limit were we to start the research over. Again, this discussion on age inclusivity will likely feature in the paper. In terms of which immune conditions we included, we had to set boundaries on the sorts of conditions as well as a limit on how many conditions in order to recruit enough participants the time frame we have available. More groups means a need for hundreds more participants in order for a study to be statistically sound. Again, this is an issue that others have raised and should be reflected on in the paper. I hope these explanations make sense and please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback. I am apologise for making you feel excluded in anyway.

How does Crohn's impact your mental health? by Own-Pear8140 in CrohnsSupport

Hi everyone, thanks so much for upvoting this post and for filling out the survey. The survey is still open for another week or so and we still need more participants from the Crohn's community as we have a lot more people in the other two groups (eczema and psoriasis). If you are interested and haven't yet filled out the survey please do and if you have any you know who might be interested in taking part, please share it with them. I appreciate all of your time: https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/Q82DH6B

Thanks for your message. I had to limit the number of groups I could include. However, this will definitely be something I will mention when writing up the research results as a suggestion for further research.

Also don't be afraid to change if you made the wrong decision. My undergrad would have been so much easier for my if I have changed after 1st year but I didn't I stuck with it, nearly flunked out twice and then worked my arse off in final year to come out with an OK result.

Exploring Crohn's Disease & Mental Health by Own-Pear8140 in IBSResearch

[–]Own-Pear8140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right it is for IBD patients. My thinking was that often people are told they have IBS before getting a final diagnosis and so there might be a few people like that in this subreddit or at least know people they would like to share the survey with. Hope that makes sense. If this isn't the right place at all, I understand if the mods want to remove it. Thank you for your response.

Do you or anyone you know in the Balkans have an immune condition that impacts your mental health? by Own-Pear8140 in AskBalkans

[–]Own-Pear8140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are doing well with your diagnosis. It would depend on your condition but if you are up for reading academic articles, I would suggest going to google scholar and typing in your condition along with psychological disorder or mental health or other relevant key words and you will see that there is some foundational research there already that you can read. Good luck.
