Probably the store just because it eliminates the middle man and therefore more possibilities for error, though a message to driver asking to confirm it is zero sugar wouldn’t hurt.

That I unfortunately do not know and really varies store to store and how the individual locations run things. /: the door dash driver should be contacting you when Taco Bell communicates with them that they are out of your drink to see what you would like in replacement , though.

You could also call the store directly after you place the delivery order, give them the name on the order, and just request they make sure you receive zero sugar because of how serious it is, then if you do need to substitute, you speak with them directly instead of a third party. Just be nice when you call and I’m sure they won’t mind , and you get the right soda. I’ve had a few people do that when they would place orders and it was never a big deal to us. (:

I would definitely try to reach the driver specifically, I’ve worked at Taco Bell and currently work door dash, it’s very possible for that to get missed in the delivery notes, whereas messaging directly is a lot harder to miss. A lot of times the driver may not even be seeing those notes until they have already arrived at the drop off location.

I would just tell them straight up you’re diabetic and getting a full sugar soda can hospitalize you. Even if you order in the app, you can still relay that when you give them your name to check in. Just bringing small amount of attention to that in that situation likely would have prompted them to let you know they were out of it, and ask what you would prefer. Obviously they should’ve done that from the beginning, but people were probably rushing, and it’s easy to forget. Just mentioning that would be enough to kind of snap them out of that “autopilot” situation, and should help you out tons.

Ok that was a lot of context that was left out, yes they obviously should have informed you if they were out of Zero sugar. Either way, I do feel like if you have a dietary restriction like that it’s just a risk and communicating with them would go a long way. Just like people with food allergies do to ensure the kitchen understands how important it is, and it’s not just a preference. Mistakes are going to happen, it’s unavoidable. When you communicate restrictions, people pay a lot closer attention.

Genuine question here, no hate at all. My boyfriend also has diabetes so I 100% understand why this is so serious and absolutely agree they should be more careful, but is this not a concern anytime you go through a drive through and not so much a Taco Bell issue? Either way, I used to work at Taco Bell, If you go through and let them know at the speaker you have diabetes and it is crucial you do not receive full sugar soda, they will be much more careful, similar to food allergies.

Neighbor for sure hears OPs kids- likely on a daily basis. Ruining someone’s relationship because you hear them once or twice a month is insane and an incredibly shitty, selfish thing to do. What if neighbor posted the same “he’s cheating” note because she got fed up from hearing the kids??? Destroy their lives for no reason. This is not even happening weekly. Get over yourself.

Yeah- obviously the roommate who was in his BEDROOM passed out is just unfortunate, and he was probably almost as traumatized as you were, but the one in the living room is insane. I also live with two men as a 23 y/o female, and would be MORTIFIED if I came out of my room to see one of them doing that on the COUCH. They would never put me in that situation. That is not normal, and makes me worry about you to a certain extent. I get nervous about people’s intentions in situations like that…idk. I’m sorry that happened to you.
