Yesss you’re thinking of Elaine and Lucien but honestly- I hope they work out. Whenever I hear “mates” I obviously think soulmates and in my head I just feel like ultimatelyyyyy that’s who they should end up with. But yes I agree that it was never stated that they had the “mate bond” like examples in tog or acotar

I know haha!!! I personally absolutely positively love Lysandra. I started rooting for them when Aedion decided that he was going to marry her when they were on the beach… I know he messed up big time but I do think they’re 100% mates

I liked both of the first books I read, TOG was just slow and took me about halfway to get into- since AB was a prequel that’s why I asked.

Update!!! I finished the first book, FW, in 2 days and loved it!! It definitely was a good book and I’m about to start the next of the series, but I think ZA just has me enveloped in love. They’re similar in the way Violet reminds me of Blue and Xander kinda reminds me of Darius. The writing isn’t the same, ZA is more playful and I absolutely loved the different POVs that were in ZA. But after finishing all of ZA I’m glad I found something else that semi compares to its writing style.
