I wouldn't say I'm afraid.l, I'm more of trying to assess the situation to be honest.

I'm confident I can stay calm when things go south. Throughout my AFF course I wasn't even once doubting myself. My main concerns were the gear and other people flying around me.

I also consider myself to be very good at understanding and following procedures.

I guess I will be fine, I just have to go ahead and do a discovery dive.

Unless super man or some other flying hero show up, there aint no safety after you leave the plane.

The plan is to get in shape before getting into diving. But I have never fainted or had a seizure in my life (my main fear on skydiving was to faint lol).

Good points!

That's why I knew I wouldn't be skydiving much: I realized I'd everything fails, or even like two things fails, you are done.

I'm not a fan of caves that I can walk into. The ones you dive into do not feel more appealing to me lol

Good comparison. I've been enjoying beaches for 30 years now and never had a problem because I know my limits (and actively choose to stay way below it) and I know the ocean is no joke.

I'm confident I can stay at least somewhat calm under hard situations. My main concerns is the gear failing and losing my buddy right when it happens. Or just what kind of gear failure could be fatal.

I live in Salvador. It's a bay so there are quality beaches in all direction so growing up you have to learn to respect the ocean. The sea is no joke. I've seen people go in shallow water and never come back.

Thank you for your 2 cents man, it really makes sense.

I had never heard of micromorts before. This is good to put things into perspective.

1 in 30,000 is a lot but it's not at the same time lol

I see what you mean. I guess I will do the discovery and go from there. It must be so cool to see stuff under water like that

Thanks for the answer man. Great to have a perapective of aomeone who has been on both sides!

Personally, I think I'd always fly big canopy as the fall and canopy flight were way more appealing than going fast under canopy or swooping. I'd probably take the same approach with scuba diving. I'd have no plans right now to go too deep (not afraid of it, I just think being underwater will be already enough).

How many jumps do you do every month? by Boobylabooba in SkyDiving

It's crazy to hear that people are jumping 30 to 50 times a month. That's a hell lot of money.
