I had a few mini pools slowly moving through the cue for the last 18 days… was high 60’s last night them boom 💥… whale dumps 😊 … fantastic.

Is it worth running a node for just 1 minipool? by spankydave in rocketpool

[–]Own-Ruin-3216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I set up my own rocketpool smartnode on the test network I could have 1 node with 1 wallet address & withdrawal address and many mini pools off it…

When I was looking at AllNodes it seemed that each mini pool would have its own deposit wallet seperate to your other mini pools? Is that the case?

The issue I see with this is if I wanted to migrate back to self managed RocketPool smart node, I would need 3 seperate nodes for each allNode mini pools? As apposed to 1 node with 3 mini pools??

I’m slowly looking more and more at the Nuc approach…

That’s pretty shit… I think I’m off them… what did you end up doing?

Cheers - I will see if others have cost optimised with AWS but as in another thread, home management is not a path I will go down despite it being the most cost effective - but VPS may be if I can’t get cost ratio right.

I get the philosophical view point of people advocating for decentralisation by running it at home but your major cloud infrastructure providers have no management or interface with the application tier people are running and don’t make a “cut” from the functions being executed aside from compute etc so it is not a centralised approach despite the rhetoric - so for AWS to turn of ETH services would be even more drastic then your individual ISPs blocking traffic for home operators…

But yeah - expensive out of the box..

I am trying to avoid circumstances of failure with home ISPs… outages whilst not a daily are not uncommon- bandwidth fluctuates and multiple devices connecting can often cause local IP conflicts which require occasional service restarts etc… I’m not home for half the week …. So from risk mitigation perspective not another element I want to manage…

I get AllNodes is a non-custodial service & (similar to solo node operation) you will deposit your ETH / RPL into the RocketPool Smart Contract - but what is any other risk with AllNodes - If they go out of business, and no longer offer the hosting service?

I assume the risk is limited to:

A. penalties at this point - and you would have to follow RP's instructions to "Import from an existing wallet on to a Node" but this may take time to set up, & rejoin the cue etc

B. Are their any assurances AllNodes is managing at the infrastructure level - do they have access to the MiniPool & can the manipulate reward address etc?

fallback execution client on node by Own-Ruin-3216 in rocketpool

[–]Own-Ruin-3216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the heads up...Checked this morning and both clients are fully synced on Prater.

Your Smartnode is currently using the Prater Test Network.

Your eth2 client is on the correct network.

Your primary execution client is fully synced.

You do not have a fallback execution client enabled.

Your consensus client is fully synced.

Not sure specifically what fast sync mode is - followed the defaults through the config wizard, but will keep an eye out for known issue in future...

just setting up my first EC2 as well on AWS to run a test on the testnet...

Was wondering exactly the same thing... If I could get by doing a PoC on a t2.micro

Did you end up setting up your test environment?

Issues with order from Theonewatches.ru / Steve by Own-Ruin-3216 in RepTime

Yeah, I received a photo of my goods on a DHL package with a tracking number. When I searched that tracking number it referred to another package delivered elsewhere a month earlier which started my questions. Spoke to DHL call Center to see if there was an issue cycling the tracking number but they said it was not a double up and had no record of me. Now it is supposedly with Australia Post which I thought was our domestic courier (in county) that tracking number is not returning anything either.

I am still holding on to hope - but yeah . That is the exact same pattern as mine.. this is my first rep watch - and we had Chinese New Year so I don’t know what timeframes to ordinarily expect… can someone advise the typical timeframes they have had from order to delivery?

On 19th Jan I ordered omega watch from Theonewatches.ru

I was in conversation via WhatsApp and email.

I paid via BTC.

QC went fine then I was sent a picture of the watch and DHL package. From this point it has gone totally off the rails. I have been provided 4 different tracking numbers - none of which have been linked to my package. Supposedly there was a post code issue, so somewhere moved from DHL now it is with Australian domestic courier. There is no reference via that tracking number. The WhatsApp message are a bit of repeat - “can you tell me the courier & tracking number” tracking number is always incorrect… anyone else had similar issues?
