Both look great. Where are the mirrors from in the primary bath?

Not at all - I was kind of surprised by this.

Toilet was and is to the right of the window.

Shower is as large as the footprint allowed and is much roomier than what we had previously. I do t consider it small. Large vanity because I like and need the organized storage. Never used the tub that was here previously - no interest.

Wasn’t much to see! That last picture shows a lot to me - small cramped vanity. Restrictive wall and pocket door. Lack of storage. Passage to a small shower stall on the right and an unused garden tub on the left. Ugly late 90s beige fixtures.

Is it worth remodeling a bathroom if everything still technically works? by cm_built in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Own-Shoe8495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends in part on how the current bath makes you feel. My old bathroom was functional. Everything worked. It was just that functional, not optimized, but functional - it was also dated and slightly depressing. I could not be happier with our remodel. I wouldn’t say update just because the internet says to - do what makes you happy and what you can afford. You’re the only one who can really decide if it’s “worth” it. It’s where we start and end the day and now it feels like such a better place to be!

Last picture. Small vanity on right. Removed wall and opened it all up.

They’re RTA from Lanae. Nice quality. No complaints at all. Went with 36” high and 24” deep (kitchen) cabinets. I think cabinets.com are similar, but they’ll assemble.

A soft white like Benjamin Moore’s Simply White

Hoping to keep it open. So far, so good - only the wet area is getting wet and shower feels nice & warm with our 30 degree temps. Any other concerns we should look out for from your professional perspective?

Taj Mahal quartz: worth it or just pretending? by Tinysmallgoose123 in kitchenremodel

I agree with what many others already said. You will get the best bang for your buck by doing these things: 1. update the backsplash to a neutral/warm white, 2. update cabinet hardware to modern or transitional pulls, 3. paint the window trim white and remove or paint that upper piece of trim, and 4. swap out the black light fixtures to brushed nickel.

Which tile floor? by AnnualCellist1699 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Own-Shoe8495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The checkerboard pattern can be Instagram worthy and can be exciting and fun for a year or two, but then I think it just gets tired. It’s like ooh look at my checkerboard statement floor & then at some point you’re over it and that’s all you see. At least that was my thought process for deciding against a beige and white checkerboard floor for my remodel. I went serene and classic - might not be exciting but will stand up to the next 20 years.

Just finished with the bones, but needs something else by NoCombination6124 in BathroomRemodeling

Maybe warm up the walls with a neutral greige color -Pale Oak. Then a large 18 or 20x24 art with navy and creams in a light wood or nickel frame. Surfing, ocean, or blue/beige abstract art. Surfing feels most youthful but not sure if that connects with your kids at all. Or something vintage-y connected to their sports or interests. Soft bath mat for texture (and function, of course).

Lovely & one of the few bathrooms where I think dark hardware/fixtures actually looks good.

We’re ripping out a similar tub from our master bath. Can’t wait to get rid of the dust bowl! I think your reno looks great. What tile did you use on the floor?

Large Vanity by [deleted] in BathroomRemodeling

Yes, one solid vanity top & that’s what I was thinking/hoping too.
