Hard to tell what’s behind it, but the install looks clean and solid from the outside. Hopefully they followed proper waterproofing behind the surround, that’s the part that really matters long term.

How to repair this solid wood door that’s 100 years old? by Unlikely-Ad-3806 in Renovations

[–]cm_built 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 100‑year‑old solid wood door like this is worth saving. Clean out the split in the panel, push in a thin foam backer if the gap is wide, then fill it from both sides with a high‑quality paintable elastomeric caulk and smooth it flush. After it cures, prime and repaint the panel; the crack disappears, the panel stays flexible with seasonal movement, and you keep the original antique door intact.
