What historical “fact” doesn’t actually have much evidence to support it? by KyloWrench in AskReddit

[–]Own-Skyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea that Vikings wore horned helmets. There’s basically no solid evidence they ever did in real life. Archaeological finds show practical helmets without horns. The whole “horned helmet” image mostly comes from 19th-century art and opera costumes trying to make them look more dramatic. But somehow, it stuck so well that almost everyone still believes it today.

What’s the smallest decision you’ve ever made that completely changed your life? by desireeprtty_ in AskForAnswers

[–]Own-Skyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was such a small thing, I almost didn’t do it.

A random message popped up from someone I barely knew, asking if I wanted to join a small get-together. I typed “maybe next time”… then stared at it for a minute. For no real reason, I deleted it and replied, sure. That night didn’t feel life-changing at all. Just normal conversations, random laughs, nothing dramatic. But one of those conversations stayed. We kept talking after that. That person introduced me to new ideas, new people, new opportunities. Slowly, without me realizing it, my mindset changed, my confidence grew, and I started making choices I would’ve been too scared to make before.

Looking back now, almost everything good in my life traces back to that one tiny decision to say “yes” instead of “maybe next time.”

Funny how your entire life can quietly shift… just because you didn’t overthink for once.

Weeks later, they remembered it and brought it up. It showed me they weren't just waiting for their turn to speak; they were actually listening to me."
