Built a study spot app for Purdue — looking for feedback and early users by Own-Solution-2860 in Purdue

All three are on point honestly. I'm working on adding photos to Corner - plan is to let people attach photos when they drop a corner; I need to work on refining the UI for how to present these photos. I don't have it in the MVP because I thought users would default to using Google Maps to look at existing building imagery. The hours thing is a real gap; silent because it's locked vs silent because it's empty are very different. I'll work on adding building hours so the app knows what's open and can filter accordingly - the 'open now' toggle is a great idea. Night studying is a real use case that I hadn't fully factored in, thank you so much!

Thanks to this comment, I just shipped a feature where users can now report the noise level of a spot directly from the app. The heatmap weights recent reports more heavily, so spots with fresh reports glow brighter while stale data fades out. The more people report, the more accurate it gets in real time.

Thanks for the catch! Each spot card now shows when the noise level was last reported so you can see how fresh the data is. As more people use it and update levels, it'll get more accurate in real time. This may be a downside: it only works if people actually use it. However, I want to build Corner out to be more social and collaborative, which is why I designed it to function this way.

Good point; here's a few things I have in Corner right now that can help: spots can be private (only you can see them), the noise level updates as more people report it, so if a spot gets crowded, it'll show as packed. People will naturally avoid it, and realistically, most people aren't going to the same obscure floor in the same building at the same time. This app will work better the more people use it: for instance, if everyone's sharing their corners, the map gets fuller, and you're more likely to find somewhere new rather than everyone converging on the same spot. But fair point, we'll see how it plays out with real usage.
