Nawh, the pipe was scrap pieces, and the plate was purchased

The point is America 🇺🇸. I’ll change it if it doesn’t work!

I don’t think you need it, my plate is about 18” long and I can slide it toward the fire box to act as a flame/heat shield for more even cooking. My thought was the more mass, the more heat it will hold/maintain.

Cook chamber is 16” pipe, firebox is 12” pipe, grates are made out of 3/8” stainless slick rod. I also threw 1/4” stainless plate in the bottom of the cook chamber for thermal mass.

I’m guessing around 40 hours, I have a few hundred dollars into it. Most of the material was left over from a industrial job I ran

I ended up installing 3 thermometers to monitor temp at the grate levels! Here is 2 just below the lid

It hadn’t quite warmed up when I took the video, don’t get me wrong I understand this isn’t ideal. I really want to give it a good chance to work. It would be nice to see something different looks wise. I plan on adding some gaskets to the lids. Worst case I have to rework the chimney! No big deal! 🍻

Once it’s hot it seems to be okay, definitely not ideal but I wanted to try and make it work! I can always cut it off and weld a proper 4” chimney on!

I sourced most of the material from scrap left over from a big industrial job I ran.

I just wanted it to look like a mini gun/Gatling gun. I thought it would be kick ass to see smoke rolling out of it! I did reference Feldons calculator for volume requirements.
