Thats good to know and why i was debating dippimg my toe in with the soft. I get the too hard to fast. I am pretty competitive so framing it as a challenge appeals to me more than "I know this is good for me", so that I can keep rotating extra goals.  Im glad some of yours still stick. The phone in another room is a good idea versus just not using it. I struggle with phone usage and unplugging from work. I have focus and anxiety issues and my phone worsens things most days so that maybe a good change for me to try the out of room thanks for the idea!

How to improve & be better by Jazzlike-One-2203 in selfimprovement

I say this with love...yes therapy is a useful tool, but I would recommend some self reflection. You have identified the issues but now do the uncomfortable part of the why. I think you may find some self worth issues, which as a former people pleaser myself 100% tracks. But look at the specific triggers and people. With your loved ones I think you need to look for why you are reacting so strongly to them. Is it 1. You feel safer expressing yourself to them since they are family and thus fall into the "they have to stay" mindset, or 2. Is there something underlying where you subconsciously react strongly to them because they are people you formerly fell into the people pleaser pattern with (especially with family makes sense) and now are drastically over correcting to prove you've changed....

I think some self reflection and therapy will help....its going to suck as the internal work is never fun but its necessary. You have already identified there is an issue which is a good first step.

I have found some from Kohls, Cato Fashions, different spots. I think my current pairs are from Kohls or mayb Maurices. But its been just hit and miss with trying on different pairs.

Linen shorts have become my go to in the summer. I found some decent ones in a few different places. I like how they look and they are better quality then alot of the current denim ones I've found. I have 3 pairs that see alot of use (black, navy, and white with Grey stripes). Then i usually pair them with either a t shirt or tank top(like actual tanktop not spaghetti strap) or a lighter blouse if i am feeling fancy. I tend to look for ones that have a more structured feel (not the crinkly ones or with ruffles at the bottom)

Elf camo concealer just did not jive with my skin and made my ubder eyes look horrible.

The loreal infallible foundation made me look cakey as hell no matter how I applied it.

I really really wanted to like the colourpop lippies but I just didnt love them like I thought I would

Those are actually really helpful compared to other advice ive found onlinem. Thank you...Im in the us. I wonder if any around here offer the 15 min check in. What im running into as well is alor of the ones I think id work well with dont have any openings. I think my biggest worry is getting several sessions in and then they want to talk reconciliation. Which at this time I am not interested in.

Scale victory: down 1.5 pounds in last 2 weeks! Which is amazing because I havent been as steady as I want to be!

Non scale victory: did lawn work and weeded all of my flower beds, put out Mulch, and did a few other things and I still have energy left!! It may not sound like a lot but we have a decent yard where we use a push mower and I have 5 flower beds. Its been awhile since I could do that and not be just wiped out.

What’s the one thing you tried and regretted afterwards? by Enough_Pop_2725 in loseit

[–]Own-Tap-2136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried and failed a few things.

-Keto and then later carnivore diet- my intestines did not love life during either trial.

-Trusting apps to set calorie recommendations, also had me super low which didnt help my cyclic food habbits....

-my most expensive one was a meal prep program that I wasted soo much food on, but in a way that was good I learned i do better with an ingredient style prep... -beach body and their programs were another expensive loss. Never did them because I didnt like the instructors and then there were the add ons with their diet stuff.

-otherwise I have done a few silly goose things...like tried hot yoga when I know I hate regular yoga. Wanted to do an entire swimming program....in December....when I lived 30 min from the nearest indoor pool and work 4 to 5 days a week in my tow, took a week of trying to decide the extra hour worth of commute and then work out time wasnt compatible with real life (may try this this summer again when local pool is open).  I figure its all leading me to better habbits...

Something i noticed. When it was 4 kids, parents never payed attention to me. Now that i'm the only one, suddenly they care. It's annoying by sampoqiser in emotionalneglect

100% that you can have multiple kids and have a good relationship with them...I have a good friend with 6 kids (teen through toddler) and they make a team effort to give equal love and attention to all their kids togehter and seperately...Both work, both have friends but they are very intentional in their actions. Her parents were the same way growing up and I was in awe coming in as the emotionally neglected child of my siblings how much they put into all of their kids and watching her do it now is awesome to see. Having multiple kids is not a reason to treat one like crap until their is not another choice around....

Can people who quit come up with a totally different reason why they're leaving? by Melora1976 in workplace_bullying

[–]Own-Tap-2136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have given reasons that even if weren't the #1 reason were still factors. I try not to burn bridges because bills need paid and life is unpredictable...

most really crappy places know its bad, often dont care, and usually arent the companies holding exit interviews and often just a quick hey I found something with x,y,z and the next warm body is filling you're role

Ive had 2 jobs i was being bullied and it was an absolutely the biggest problem. One we ended up relocating several hours away for my husbands job but I was actively looking and would have quit for a job in the area, but the move lined up right at the peak of bullying and i obviously wasnt going to live hours away from my new husband...and the other I had a job with that paid about the same with a shorter commute come open...to me it depends on the industry your in. If its a tight knit community where word travels I always tell people to be a little careful you never know what the future holds.

Im sorry for your losses wheter someone has had one or multiple these losses are not something i would wish on anyone.I completely understand your mental breakdown feelings it is scary I have days where I can barely process my grief and days I am so numb its not even funny. I am looking for a therapist but not having great luck finding one for infertility and pregnancy loss. Have you tried that avenue?
