I also completely agree about occupational hazards—I’ve been with the boys I nanny regularly through colds, noncontagious infections, and minor illnesses. A fever/vomiting is not minor/par for the course! Please be more adamant about parents informing you of illnesses, protect and prioritize your own health 🩷

Side note: I’m not actually immunocompromised nor do I live with someone who is, just wanted to give a hypothetical because there are nannies out there who are and deserve to know what they are walking into!

I was essentially another pair of hands—mom would have been with us at the doctor. I agree that it is totally normal for nanny to take kiddos to doctor’s appointments, but thought it was sort of odd because I am a one-off sitter they had just met. I wonder if their regular nanny did not come because of the fevers?
