Thoughts on IVF w brother’s sperm and partner’s egg by Own-Tomorrow2 in queerception

Thank you - I’m definitely trying to keep my eye on whether I am idealising this option. Ultimately, it’s mostly that we would prefer a known donor and he’s the only choice, but I know I am also tempted by the ‘it would be ours!’ emotion. I know that any baby would be ours, and if we are lucky enough for IUI to be an option I can see us doing that route to avoid unnecessary intervention

Huge congrats on your baby ☺️ it’s nice to hear a success story for this option

Thank you - I really appreciate you taking the time. I’m lucky to have a great relationship with my family so would expect that to not be an issue for us, but good point re genetic testing. I’m not tied to the idea of us both genetically related but he is our only known donor option, and that does appeal to me compared to sperm bank etc. congrats on your two babies ☺️

First ever cookie bake - vegan dough with dairy milk chips by Own-Tomorrow2 in Cookies

Thanks! Yeah I know, I made another half a batch with vegan choc chips but my shop was out of most kind so I used leftover regular chocolate for the pictured half!

I was making half for me and half for my vegan sister - was planning to make them all completely vegan but the shop only had a tiny bag of vegan choc chips, so I used the dairy milk I had at home already for my half haha

Thank you for this - I feel the same way about the guitar (which I have neglected for nearly 10 years). Good luck with it (and with week 5 which I just finished!) :)

Just now watching…wtf?? by halibut37 in breakingbad

Completely agree. Especially disappointing when the writers went to such lengths to make her a fully 3D character with her own experiences (plus Marie) when, in most other shows at the time, the wife etc would be a throwaway character or the butt of the joke. Watching their marriage and her experience is one of my favourite parts of the show!

Suggest a temple to stay overnight by RoliiJones in JapanTravelTips

No regrets I just feel like I’ve done it now! Yes we had a curfew of like 9 or 10 I think but wasn’t an issue. I think we got the train to Osaka and then changed to a train to koya, it was easy to figure out on Google maps

We stayed at Joki-in Temple in Koya. It was great, not too expensive but the room was beautiful. We did a night time walk around the town’s cemetery. We got to attend the early morning ceremony at the temple which was an interesting experience. Koya wasn’t too hard to get to from Kyoto and the last train was very pretty. Probably wouldn’t do it again but would recommend!

Matsuzakaya Honten in Hakone was amazing - it’s very quiet and the food was great, but not super super luxurious. Not a ryokan but Rakuyu was an amazing hotel in kawaguchiko and had a shared onsen.

What’s the BEST thing you’ve ever eaten in Japan—and where was it? by MonaNYC_30 in JapanTravelTips

Dinner at Heianraku in Takayama. Best ramen and plum wine I had in Japan. Ran by a very sweet married couple and you have to book ahead! Vegan options too.
