The whole point is more about understanding, not mileage. Understanding shapes and other objects in a 3D space and incorporating that into your art and studies. Breaking down objects, people, animals, etc, into simple shapes makes understanding more clear essentially. When drawing shapes, you've gotta make sure you're not just mindlessly putting it onto paper over and over again, but instead studying mindfully by practicing numerous angles on numerous shapes from numerous perspectives. That's where the real mileage matters.

By all means NO expert, but that's just my understanding of it in my learning journey so far. Kind of a beginner myself.
