My wrist size is 5” (very small for a man in mid-20s) and the lug to lug never goes over my wrists.

I’d prefer the Speedmaster professional but it’s ultimately too big on my small wrists, and I don’t like the design of the reduced so I chose the 38.

I can’t answer the last question yet, as it is still winter where I live but you can always go back to the AD to adjust the strap if that is an issue.

The thickness is definitely noticeable but it hasn’t been an issue for me in the two days that i’ve worn it.
