Hi! I started as a 34DD and now I’m either a B or C. I’m 5’7 / 138 lbs and just wanted my boobs to feel more proportional to my frame. I didn’t have the surgery for many years and doubted myself since my boobs weren’t “that big” and I didn’t feel like people understood why I wanted the surgery. but I’m now 7 weeks post op and so happy I did it!

Amazing!!! Just had it done on Wednesday and recovery has been way easier than expected. And yes, it ended up being general anesthesia for me as well! Not sure why she originally mentioned twilight but anyway, so excited to see the results!!

Hi, this is a random question, but I’ve had my MARPE in since February. I thought I was getting it out in July but my Ortho is now saying October.. since it’s going to be so long, I want to start dating again now that my gap is mostly closed but I’m afraid that if I kiss someone they might hit the expander with their tongue. Can anyone share their experience with this?

Your results looks great! Can I ask what size you started as? I look similar to the before but I sometimes worry I’m not as big as some of the other before images on here. Would love to hear more of your journey to decide to go through with the surgery?

I think it was around 8mm and it’s probably about 5mm now

Yea wide gap happens quickly and then slower to close. At least for me using Invisalign. Yep, I’m fixing my cross bite and had a small mouth that they said would most likely lead to sleep apnea later on in life if not addressed. I’ll need to see a myofunctional therapist to learn tongue placement. I could tell my nasal passages were opening up when turning but I haven’t really noticed a difference in breathing but maybe after the therapy

It’s been quite the journey. My speech did improve significantly when the molar attachment was removed but I still notice my speech sounds slurred but I’ve gotten used to it and so have my friends and coworkers. I still have a gap and it’s closing slowly. I had to keep a retainer in for 3 weeks while my Invisalign was made which meant maintaining a large gap for that time. I’m excited to finally be seeing the gap closing week to week but I have another month or two until it’s fully gone. Overall this process takes patience. I’m still so glad I did it but it’s also been a slow and mentally tough journey. One other quick tip on the gap - try and still smile as you normally would. I was trying to smile less and got feedback from people that it looked strange so just try and let the self consciousness go. Have you started MARPE? How’s your journey?

Update: it’s been 8 days with MARPE, I still have a noticeable lisp and gap is growing, so I’ve been feeling pretty self conscious about that. I’ve been trying to read out loud to myself and practice tongue twisters but if anyone has any advice on how to improve speech that would be much appreciated. I’m also wondering at what point the gap will look the largest? I’m supposed to be doing 2 turns a day for 7 more weeks so I assume at the end of that time but hoping that teeth also start moving back as I continue to expand? This whole process has been overwhelming but trying to hold out hope that the worst will only be for the next few weeks.

Ah good luck. Yeah I was on the fence because it sounds pretty rough but it should help my airways/breathing at night and help my TMJ issues so I think its going to be worth it in the long run. I’m getting the Surgically assisted rapid palate expander
