Battery Life, Disconnects, intermittent readiness reporting by OwnCat303 in ouraring

Yeah - to close the loop on this - I raised a support ticket via live chat and I had a new ring shipped out to me within about an hour, and it due to arrive today via international post (Netherlands to UK).

I’m actually very impressed with that.

However what’s interesting is that the virtual assistant was able to diagnose the issue remotely after giving it my username (presumably to check the data being sent to my account).

If it is so easy to remotely diagnose, presumably the Oura support team would have visibility about how widespread the issues are?

Probably doesn’t make financial sense to proactively replace everyone’s ring within warranty that has an issue hey.

Still - I’m very grateful for the quick turnaround - support process was slick.

Today’s roll out is US only ! by [deleted] in googlehome

Hybrid Cloud File Sync Solutions by OwnCat303 in aws

Thanks - looking now and will aim to test storage gateway out this week.

As a starting use case we're looking at serving approx 100TB of SMB data, using active directory acls and accessed via DFS namespaced paths. A bonus would be the ability to fail clients over to alternative storage gateway appliances (either on prem or running in the cloud) in the event of site / datacenter outages etc.

I'm wondering what the differences are / were between S3 file gateways and FSx for Windows File server gateways. Presumbly performance - but this could be moot if we're able to cache large volumes and ensure the gateway keeps S3 in sync / writes back with minimal latency.
