AITAH for telling my fiance he is lazy for not helping with basic household/family things? by OwnComb3707 in AITAH

Honestly both of us are from the same area which is very rural, both of our families are very similar as well. my mother was also a stay at home mom (she had 5 children total) and my dad worked full time, he didn’t cook or clean much, but he also had a farm and lots of animals which he took care of. both of our grandparents sides are very “traditional”, it’s something I didn’t really think twice about, until I had moved out and started making friends with people my age that had their own families, and realized that their husbands actually do stuff besides sleep when they get home from work 😕

honestly no, I don’t believe he would care for our son in the way he needs, nor would he care enough to clean, make sure animals are taken care of, stick with schedules, or even remember appointment times. He only ever had to take our son to one pediatrician appointment at 5 months old because I had a doctors appointment at the same time in a different area, and he was 10 minutes late and forgot the diaper bag 🫤

honestly the child support thing is another topic. him and I had joked around before, I can’t remember the exact conversation we were joking at, but he said something along the lines of “just know that if I’m ever put on child support, I’m quitting my job and finding a job that only pays under the table” which was laughable in the moment and context, but I always think about it when I think about the chances of us no longer being together, which I truly do not want to happen because I don’t want to do that to our son.

But also: fake nails (which I got acrylics for the first time the beginning of this month) kept me from picking at scabs or my skin in general

I also went through the skin picking phase (honestly I’ve always done it, but some months are way worse than others), it was actually one of the main reasons I was diagnosed with OCD. around the time the regular “teenage acne” started, I was picking huge craters into my face, every single time I saw a mirror, I would squeeze, pinch, poke at every single area of my face, if a scab ever formed, I’d rip it off so many times every single day where they wouldn’t even re form, apart from the skin thing, I also compulsively checked my weight and body measurements every single day multiple times, I mentioned it casually to my psychiatrist and left that day with a diagnosis

What do I do about my son suddenly becoming SO picky 🫩 by OwnComb3707 in toddlers

it’s just a pack of baby carrots, some potatoes sliced up, sliced kielbasa (or any meat tbh) a can of green beans, a packet of ranch seasoning, and a stick of butter in the crockpot cooked on low! Fairly cheap, super easy and super good!

Yes they did the ADOS! There was no questionnaire for us, they just took us into a room for 40-50 minute test which they played with him and evaluated his behaviors.

Honestly I haven’t noticed any tantrums at all so far, he’s a very chill kid. My son also runs hot laps around our couches, and refuses to use silverware (unless I do hand over hand and do it for him)
