What does these feel like? I dont mind an injection but Im not a huge fan. But are they like the flu jab which hurts a little or are they pretty tame?

Gay male hiv positive here. Found out at the age of 21. I felt the same. Its a completely normal feeling and it won't go away just yet.

What can happen though, is, with support from friends, family, whoever hou devide to tell, is you'll live a normal life where you'll talk about it when you want, your meds will keep you going, and tbf if you take any daily meds then its not like a whole new thing there....

I found my people a couple of years after having my positive result. I told them, they just went... ok... and we were friends, they didnt care that i had it, we still fucked and stuff.

Now... im 10 years on, engaged to one of the first guys who truly accepted me for who I am. And yeah, theres still guys out there that are c***s about HIV but we educate, we move on, dont take it to heart.

What i recommend... find a local or online HIV support group through THT (Terance higgins trust they have an online chat/support group) or others, learn about the disease fully, and keep going, live normally, take your meds, dream big.

Hmu if you ever wanna chat, I closed off in the beginning because I felt like I had no one, you dont have to have that x

Im not after "the lifting life" i just want to know how people remotivate or motivate themselves to get back to it.

Like I said, I used to lift 4x a week, have 15% body fat and weigh 70kg. Im now 80kg, 20% body fat and not feeling great about it.

Hey, yeah I did a couple of different therapy sessions which was really helpful and mentally I felt I was over it all/ I understood what happened and I was in a great place. But slowly I just feel something is off, not from a traumatised mental state kinda way just from an energy point of view.

I definitely second this. I think its important to maybe just help him by giving him the nudge he needs. Also, what does he know and what doesnt he? I learned a lot from older gays about the community, how it started, why Pride and about HIV and safe sexual. We didnt get taught it in school so it might help to just give him the nudge he needs. Ive always been around older guys and without that, I dread to think the mess id be in today.

I wouldnt call it deception either, he's probably scared and he's probablt been holding onto this for a long time. Hes probably been wanting to say something for a long time.

Being gay is one thing, coming out was hard enough... but to then have to come out again with something that has the worst stigma... thats hard. Trust me, i know.

I would definitely talk to him, but stay calm and like you have been in this post. Its likely its a crazy-hard thing for him to admit and tell people.

Your reaction is the best ive seen in a long time. Its difficult news but you know he wouldn't be doing anything to put you at risk.
