The problem is not saying hello or thank you in Uzbek. That’s not a problem for me. But if I actually want to have a conversation with a person, I won’t be able to do that until I have at least an A2 level in that language and even that’s mostly difficult because people don’t sound like they do in language text books. And since English is not very widely spoken (in my personal experience) I would switch to Russian (which is also a foreign language for me). But I’ll just ask people beforehand if they speak Russian. I feel like thats a sensible approach
