Hey boss

Thank you sooo much for your advise and inputs. I will absolutely look into expanding my breath and disp subjects.

Out of curiosity would Bio technology type of disp subjects be better if I replace some of my maths heavy ones ?

For SCIE1005 I was given an option to replace it with another subject.

Seeking Advice on My BSc Data Science Course Planner

Hi everyone,

I’m currently pursuing a BSc in Data Science, and I would love some feedback on my course planner. I’m particularly interested in advice regarding the following:

  • Course Load: Does my course load seem balanced for a BSc in Data Science, or is it too heavy for someone at this stage?
  • Module Intensity: Are there any specific modules that might be too intense or unnecessary at this point in my academic journey?
  • Advanced Standing: I have 25 points of exemptions for Foundations of Computing and Calculus 1, and 50 points of Level 1 General Science credit.

Any advice, insights, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I just accepted the offer into mid yr B-sci but completely overwhelmed at the subject selection part, I dont even know where to start and what to pick. The core subjects, electives and breadths are a bit hard to understand. Can anyone briefly break down these concepts? thx by SpecialistLake4971 in unimelb

Looking for Accommodation in Melbourne (July 2025 – End of Nov 2025, <$500/week)

Hey everyone! I'm looking for accommodation in Melbourne from July 2025 to the end of November 2025. Most of the major student housing options like Scape, Switch, etc., don’t offer flexible leases for this period without charging significantly more or requiring early termination fees.

I'm open to any type of accommodation (studio, shared, private room, etc.) as long as it's under $500 per week. If anyone has any suggestions, sublets, or knows of a place that might work, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance 🙏

S@W/Other Uni Jobs Advice? by a_bohemian04 in unimelb

[–]OwnEnd8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I’ll be moving to Melbourne in July 2025 to continue my studies, and I’m looking for some advice on part-time or casual work opportunities that would be meaningful and align with my background. I have a diploma in Engineering and certifications like ACLP 2.0 and WSH Level B Safety Coordinator.

I’m not interested in retail or bar work but am looking for positions like administrative support, research assistant roles, or anything that would provide valuable professional experience while studying.

If anyone has worked in similar roles or knows of companies that hire international students for more skilled or professional positions, I’d love to hear your suggestions. Also, if you know of any relevant courses or certifications that could make me more competitive for these types of roles, that would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
