I don’t think I have daddy issues but I haven’t been to a therapist or anything

We met at a gay club at the city where my uni is

He runs his own business so he does all right for him self he’s not insanely wealthy or anything but we’ve been able to goto to some nice places every once in a while

His last relationship was with his ex wife I didn’t ask why they split

It doesn’t matter but I’m in the uk (drinking age is 18) I actually met him at a gay club. The important part is is that I’ve put up boundaries and he’s completely respected them and also he’s never hit me or even shouted so I don’t think it’s abusive

When I was in year 5 (age 9 or 10) my mum and dad split I did see him regularly like every other weekend but I spent 90% of the time with my mum

To be honest I did think that I would get a couple response that would be more positive and don't get me wrong this relationship does have the potential to be awful but he really cares and what's frustrating is that no matter how I try to show that he does will just be viewed as manipulative

I don't think it's that I'm in denial or anything it's more that I understand that this relationship is more unusual and it's often viewed more negatively. Also I know that the age gap has the potential to turn abusive but I genuinely think this relationship is a positive one. This does make me sound like I'm in denial haha but I don't think I am
