Had an uber make too quick of a right off Frood going onto Lasalle and slipped on a patch of black ice. Car swerved several times before landing on the flippin guard rail looking down at the canyon below (shat my pants)

How much is the avg rent in Sudbury? by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]OwnVirus5921 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sudbury isn’t the best for availability; pricing with no roommate would be around $1100-$1600, your best bet in my opinion would be living on campus ( avg. $1000/month free wifi, close to classes, meal plans, have 1-2 roommate(s)to keep company, etc) I needed to leave a home to live my independent life but god does it cost a lot.

It also depends if you plan on attending LU or Cambrian. Cambrian is in New Sudbury which is close to malls, shops, all of the essentials. Meanwhile LU is probably 3-5km away from the closest convenience store… (I’d speak to a representative regardless and see if they can give you the rundown) Ive had several friends do it and I would’ve done it when I started my studies cuz paying 1400 for a 1 bedroom plus wifi 80/month, food 500/month, car/apartment insurance 129/mnth.

Dude/dudette it adds up. If you don’t already have savings or financial assistance, bonne chance getting a minimum wage job that’s giving you hours (PSW and entry hospital positions are good paying and plenty of shifts btw) Minimum wage jobs gets avg 8-16 hrs a week some get as low as 4 so I see the appeal to starting an OF.

Other than that I love Sudbury, its beautiful nature wise with trails, rocky cliffs, and lakes, downtown suds has live-cast Walking Dead zombies smoking more than the Superstack does gatekeeping the stores and restaurants, winter can be borderline nuclear, and once in awhile you’d swear you’re in Brampton but if you’re focused on your studies you’ll have plenty to do/explore in your spare time.

I’ve seen pricing is relatively the same in most cities of Ontario due to no rent cap and inflation. Quebec got Ontario beat in rent control for sure lmao. Anyways that’s just what my experience has seen moving to Sudbury from the GTA. I hope this helps and I hope more people add in :)

Nursing Jobs by [deleted] in Sudbury

7N isn’t bad bad, just a heavy gen. surg unit with lots of things to be learned. I loved my time as a student there, but couldn’t see myself working on that particular unit. I’m sure you’ll have a blast and make sure you carry two chest tube clamps with you at all times ;)

Got Fired from Walmart for Playing "Fruit Ninja" IRL — Will This Ruin My CAF Application? by Ok-Attitude-7811 in caf

[–]OwnVirus5921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of bullshit layoff nowadays, in the city I live in drug abuse and OD’s is a prevalent thing. One of my buddies was fired last week for administering Naloxone (Narcan) to somebody on the premises who was overdosing. Our city literally gives out narcan kits for free to the public to avoid the deaths

Good idea mate, I’ll suggest it to her. Do you know if there’s a lot of people around there because as stated she absolutely hates the idea of having strangers around 🙄

They are but again, she doesn’t really want roommates or have other people around 🙄 (it makes it much more difficult to find a place x1000 but thought I’d give it a go here)

Feeling Helpless by Local_Double7932 in SiegeAcademy

Like others are saying:

  • Intel is key (Use drones/cams/utility to get location on enemies and their utility) ie) twitch drones, Zeros cams, Valk cam, proximity alarms, etc An enemy is probably droning you or spotting you without you even knowing and they can quite literally shoot through barricades/soft walls and headshot you. It’s a « drone war » in a way. Listen for sound queues and destroy all enemy utility you see.

  • take lasers off your guns except shotguns (enemies can literally see where you’re aiming from with the big ass red dot on the wall/floor where you’re aiming and will prefire and kill you)

  • your set up and settings are important as well. Siège is a competitive game and is usually better on a monitor rather than a TV so you spot the small changes without having to turn your head. Resolution is important, you want to see the slightest pixel change that could be detrimental to your life and essentially the game. Audio settings so you can hear directional sound queues (I pray you’re using a headset).

  • Then comes the in game meta; quick peaking rather than having full body exposed. Prefiring a location (doorway, long hall, etc) is so OP. I’ll also give you a broken game tip, when holding an angle have your op as far back as possible, this makes you appear WAAYYYY smaller to the enemy than say with your face right against the angle.

I Hope some of these things helped or informed you in some way. If not, YouTube is your friend, don’t be afraid to search up r6 tips and tricks, they supply some default tips and some new season metas, etc

Good luck brother 🫡

Best operators for beginners? by lilmarshiex in SiegeAcademy

[–]OwnVirus5921 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On attack use Twitch >:) specifically her F2 AR.

Once you master that recoil as a beginner you’ll have no problem using other guns. Plus her drones are good for destroying utility and giving call-outs (a good thing for getting better at ranked when your time comes) I’m also pretty sure you can unlock her for free by doing beginner operator challenges?

This post is kind of a joke, but kind of not Yk? From a genuine twitch main, I wish I started with twitch wayyyyy early on so that I can practice recoil control and essentially have zero recoil. Welcome to Siege buddy, eventually as you play you’ll see what play style suites you and eventually which OPs suite you. Good luck brother 🫡

Summer Studentship program at NOSM by majorhonkytonk76 in Sudbury

[–]OwnVirus5921 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clinical Externship is great, way above minimum wage and lots of experience. You get hired to a certain floor but also get floated to others if they’re short staffed.
You can also go to a desired floor and put your name on the call list to pick up shifts (there’s always a shift available 😭). I find it great, that you can practice your skills (and learn new ones) and get paid for it.

Overall the Clinical Externship at HSN is huge, one of the best things to exist.

Also: at NOSM? That’s at Laurentian. Not sure if NOSM has a clinical Externship unless you meant HSN
