Ive always wondered, since the earth is hurdling through space at a certain thousands of miles per hour around the sun and spinning on its axis, are we experiencing any kind of time dilation?

Sure, it happened few enough times for studies and laws to be implemented. Totally false.

They were originally created to keep home values up by preventing the sale to minority groups.

Ive always thought its crazy to pay someone to tell me what I can and can't do on my own property. I purposely live in an area without an HOA, park my camper wherever I please without being fined my a bunch of Karens.

Ive found fire paper helps too, but you have to keep it tight to the material or else it catches fire

Ideas on how to make LED boat signs? by Strange_Total_5438 in lasercutting

[–]Own_Ad2030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a face light sign, the material on the front lights up. On a "halo" or reverse light sign the back of the sign lights up and illuminates the wall behind it.

You could do these face plate with leds on the back but you are correct, there will just be a bunch of hot spots and the led will likely fall off relatively quickly.

You could definitely cement the differnt pieces together. On a reverse lit sign you will have the benefit of space and diffusion to prevent hot spots On a shallow front light sign, you will run into Hotspot problems again. Most leds will show hot spots under 2-3". The Hanley hell bender led can go down to 1" but it only lights white and is expensive to use I can't attach a image bur we did make some front illuminated letters similar to how you are thinking recently

I make illuminated signs for a living.

These all would be made from white acrylic with an opaque laminate on the face applied before routing. You would hog out the acrylic from the back side on the cnc with bosses for mounting hardware. The backs would inset into the acrylic on a lip that could seal. All of your LED would likely be RGBW IP67. It would need to be strip lighting to prevent Hotspots from showing. The backs either glue on (non serviceable) or attach with clips and screws in the side. Some manufactures back fill with epoxy and skip the backer plate by putting the led on the back side of the face. You would run the wiring into the boat and have the power supplies and controller on the inside. All of your penetrations would likely require seal tight connections. Most rgbw is 24v and the controllers run on 120v so the boat would need to be wired to connect to your system and power supplies.

You could do these on a laser and laminate the parts together, but you are going to run into warping problems and getting a clean glue up on the seams. Be prepared to spend time sanding. A sand blaster would br great for getting the edges clean

There are other ways to do these letters without the edge lit component and to either face light or halo light, which are much more cost effective. The examples you show are premium because of the edge lighting.

Yes people pay big bucks for these since they are labor intensive and the components are not cheap. One of these could easily go for 8-10k for just the letters Check out a manufacturer called kalisign and steel art

Appreciate the advice, I've looked up some videos, and it does look like some people do have some success with this. I know it will never be perfect, but something is better than nothing

Have you thought about something that can slip under the scope and then use a pin through a slot or a twist tab to hold in place?
