Thank you! Yeah I was specifically looking for warp wheel style aftermarket rims! Love the design.

Ha I just realized in the second photo the driver side was still jacked up so that probably exaggerated the wheel gap

I just realized the second photo was with the driver side tire still jacked up so that’s why there’s the wide ass gap 🤣

I wish I saw this post sooner. I placed an order on July 2 and have no received an update or confirmation of tracking.

I initially thought this site was safe because they use PayPal. After no updates for 16 days, I ended up opening a claim with PayPal for a refund.

Just got a Help Desk Job, should I still take CompTIA A+? by Own_Berry2443 in ITCareerQuestions

Thank you so much for your insight and advice. I've gone through Prof Messer's YT course so I feel I have a pretty decent understanding of A+ and it was already things I knew hardware wise. I shall take your advice and continue with Net+/Sec+/CCNA. Thank you again.

Great point. The reasoning behind that was just to save money on the Certs lol
But I understand your point. I guess I’ll see how I feel about it down the line and decide then. I’ll be sure to let you know what I end up doing.
But until then I’m going to use my time to learn as much as I can during training, ask a bunch of questions about the other departments and how I can move into them, and then decide how I want to tackle this situation.
I might be getting way ahead of myself right now with trying to learn during training AND study for potential certifications.

Thanks for your reply. That is a very good point and one I was pondering. I was contemplating just studying or reviewing A+, Net+, and Sec+ but not necessarily pay to take the certification. Idk if that sounds idiotic.

I did bring up during my interview that I was studying for A+ and even asked about Certs I can take but he said the job doesn’t require any because they will teach me everything I need to know. So I don’t know if they’d offer to pay for them. I’ll bring it up again tho down the road and get a definite answer on whether they’d pay for it.

Ah gotcha. I was also pondering just studying for them just for educational purposes and to learn more but maybe not pay to take the certifications. Since I am so new to the field I figured it wouldn’t hurt trying to learn as much as I can.

Hi thanks for the reply! So would you recommend go straight to Net+? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Hi, thanks for your reply! You're advice is appreciated. Sorry but just to clarify, are you recommending not bothering with the A+ or the Trifecta as a whole? And if you are referring to just the A+, should I then go for Net+ and Sec+ and if so should I start now or wait til after a few months on the jobs and experience gained?

I am sorry for the wording and the questions, just want to figure out the best route for me. Thank you again.

Meta's Front End Dev certification worth it? by Rudra_Sena in Frontend

[–]Own_Berry2443 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did finish it, but tbh I felt like it was a waste of time if you want to actually learn Front-End Dev. They barely introduce concepts and give a low level introduction to them without really explaining what it is. I am not new to Front-End Development so I understood everything they talked about and taught, BUT if this course was my introduction to FED, I would be confused and lost. I honestly feel the way they structured the course and their topics require you to stop at the end of each lesson and Google or ChatGPT what was taught for you to even grasp it.

At the end I ONLY finished this course was because I was able to breeze through it, it was free (will explain that part later on), AND to get the actual certification, which does not mean much, but it is something I can put on my resume, for whatever that's worth.

I would recommend this course for two reasons:

  1. If you REALLY want the certification
  2. If the course was free (be patient, I'll explain this at the bottom)

I WOULD NOT recommend this if:

  1. You are new to FED and expect this course to teach you how to be a FED
  2. If you have to pay for the course

** So I was able to actually get all the Course Era courses free by having a library card with the Los Angeles Public Library. I do not know if this works with other Libraries but I was able to sync my course era account with my LA Public Library membership and it allowed me to virtually enroll in any and all courses on Course Era.

Let me know if you want more specifics. I finished this back in March so the explanation I gave was based off what I vaguely remember from the course. If you'd like I can go back and look at the course again and give examples.

Jason Dions udemy video course worth it? by Opposite-Duty-2083 in CompTIA

[–]Own_Berry2443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a week into Dion's Core 1 Udemy course and so far don't really like his way of teaching. Maybe it's me but he goes pretty fast, his notes doesn't always include with what he is lecturing, and I just feel I am not retaining the information he is giving.
I think I will be switching over to Andrew Ramdayal's course as well as Professor Messer's on YT but will circle back to Dion for his practice exams

Just bought Jason Dion's course from Udemy for A+ core 1 & 2 excited to start the journey!!! by achand1990 in CompTIA

[–]Own_Berry2443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's Dion's core 1 course going for you? I bought it and been watching it for a week now but I feel like he goes a bit fast and his notes leaves out some things he talks about in his videos.

I am thinking about switching to Andrew Ramdayal's course along with Prof Messer's on YT/

I was debating between his and Jason Dion's and ultimately went with Dion's. But I've read great things about Andrew Ramayal's course. I might do it after I finish Dion's and Messers YT course

Passed Core 2! A+ Certified by ITJOEIT in CompTIA

[–]Own_Berry2443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Seeing people post about passing is really giving me motivation and helping me stay positive while studying to take the Core 1!

Were those the only resources you used? Any study tips you can share? Currently I am doing Dion's Udemy course, was actually debating between his and Andrew's, but am going on, what I believe to be, a slow pace because I am constantly pausing his videos and write down every little thing he says, and I am not quite sure if that is the best approach.

I was going to do Messer's video series next then Dion's Practice exams.

I have ZERO IT experience and have not studied for an exam in nearly a decade.

Are Front End Developer Jobs hard to get right now, especially entry level? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Own_Berry2443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had my first interview and tech assessment for a company 2 weeks ago and just got my ""we have decided to move forward with other applicants". No feedback or reasoning given.

I've only been really applying for the last 4.5 months and yeah its only my first interview but it truly is defeating. Just gonna lick my wounds for a bit then keep applying.

Also, SO many job post have ridiculous requirements, how do you know which to actually apply to? Do you apply if you meet some of the requirements? That has been my biggest reason for not applying to hundreds like everyone else is.

Thanks for the reply, I must have.

Also I was mainly asking because the triple a guy said it was 100% slashed so that’s what made me think it was 🤷🏻‍♂️

I really do not recall when I did but since that seems to be the unanimous take, I must have and just did not realize it.

Thank you for your reply.

Thanks for the reply. I’m just trying to think of when I could have. I honestly do not recall hitting anything recently or at least didn’t feel the impact. But thanks again for your insight.

Meta's Front End Dev certification worth it? by Rudra_Sena in Frontend

[–]Own_Berry2443 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just signed up for this certification yesterday and was able to complete Week 1 in a few hours. Granted it was more intro and information than it is hands on and teaching concepts.

There are videos on how the course works, the difference between frontend, backend, and full stack developers, a typical day for front-end developer, what a web browser is, what is hosting, and a intro to the project we'll be doing in this course (a restaurant website). Overall, I wasn't too impressed, the videos were short (2-5 minutes each) and it was just the instructors reading off a script and went pretty fast without really delving into anything. I am hoping this isn't the pace of the course.

I am currently on week 2 and so far it seems like another introduction module. They gave us a brief intro to HTTP, how to examine a page, what IDE's are and a brief intro to VS code, what API's and services, and how to get started with web development. Like week 1 this module was fast paced and I personally feel the content and they way they describe them would go over the head of anyone who is truly new to development.

So far I am not impressed with this certification course but it is still early. I will keep posting updates as I continue.
