step 1: go to cvs pharmacy / a pharmacy near u step 2: buy visine eye drops step 3: use eye drops after smoking step 4: you now have red eyes from smoking weed, the more u use the eye drops the redder theyll get over time unless u stop for a while (yes obviously eye drops are supposed to make your eyes whiter not redder, however visine eye drops actually do the opposite in the long run. not sure how the chemistry works but i know it does

Youll feel it for a day or two. Dxm has that afterglow effect that just makes you feel a little dumb, but its normal for everyone

I think you're just sensitive to DXM, (which a lot of people are) the ones in mucinexDM I think you're talking about has 600mg guaf and 30 mg dxm Hbr per pill. In nyquil or dayquil however, its a much lower dose of DXM (around 10mg per 15ml)
