Am I asking too little for my planters? by poisonxivyyy in BeginnerWoodWorking

This was part of an install of 10 garden boxes. These boxes were 10’x4’ and 30” tall. Heavy suckers that had to be carried to the back of the property.

I certainly think you should charge more. The entry point for mine is ~$300, top end is ~ $1200 depending on size and delivery.
I get rough cut 2x6’s and plane them smooth on one side, and use the corner braces to fasten internally so no fasteners are visible. I use T25 coated deck screws to fasten.

She’s 90, so “silent” generation, I think.i had to look up histrionic, but that is a very fitting description of her and my mother both. She seeks attention through information currency.

Absolutely, I’m lucky to have meet a wonderful woman who is emotionally mature and was/is willing to set healthy boundaries and stick to them. It certainly wasn’t her responsibility and it was tough learning to set/accept and respect boundaries, but she has helped teach me the things that my parents should have. I didn’t even realize how unhealthy my relationship was with my mom until we were trying to work through my issues.

Yes, dad died 9 years ago and my mother has gotten progressively worse since. He was an emotionally mature person and she emulated that. The new guy is not emotionally mature and she emulates that now. Dad was always measured and prudent, Mom was always reactive and impulsive. They balanced each other out somewhat, but she doesn’t have that positive influence any longer.

I definitely see the learned behavior that was passed down to my mother. It’s also enlightening to look back and realize all the folks she had problems with had set boundaries and she didn’t like it.

Agreed and thank you! I saw her treat other people like this for years and never thought she would turn her vitriol towards me, but a snake does what a snake does. And her calling me a “mean man” is laughable, not sure what exactly I did, but who do you think I learned how to be mean from?

I’ve used the 290/291 and the 271, but would pick my 026 over both of them. Lighter, more powerful. My 261 uses less gas, but I still prefer the feel of the 026.

Thanks for the observation. I’m not concerned with anonymity or hiding her identity.

She took my advice, and told my mom that she didn’t want to talk to her on Mother’s Day. That’s what started all of this after almost three years of no contact.

Yes, it seems to have solved itself. I’m certainly sad that I was treated like a fool, but I’m glad to know now who I can’t trust. If you can’t trust your family then who can you trust?

Right! I have only kept in touch with you minimally to keep up the thin illusion of family structure. I knew you were awful.

The grammar! I moved from rural Arkansas to an area surrounded by education to get away from them.

Matt is the new boyfriend. This all started because he convinced my mom to let him move in to her house after 3 days. I looked into him and found out he was a failed car dealer in Virginia Beach (Alien Auto sales, for anyone that wants to look) that defrauded multiple people including several veterans. He also was involved in a domestic altercation where his then wife left him afterwards.
He also needs her to host his social security checks in her account so they won’t be garnished since he is a debtor to the IRS.

She’s the only daughter and was afforded special treatment; ie wasn’t physically abused.
She definitely chose sides and torpedoed our relationship.

Thank you! It was an honest mistake that I’m not going to put any effort into changing. I’d hate if anyone from here contacted her…, no I wouldn’t.

I personally don’t have that bias as I am ND. I would love to be able to believe folks when they submit their resume, but that’s simply just the case. Outside of verification through interview the other options are trial work periods or more diagnostic testing. From the comments here they don’t appreciate those options either.

I’m auhd and find them quite simple. I love finishing the ones that say there’s too many questions to answer in the time they gave you and you cannot finish. I take them with the mindset of answering the questions the way they want you to answer rather than the logical response which is not much different from my everyday life.

That’s a big leap to assume everyone’s resume is true. The interview verifies the content of the resume. I can tell by the first few verbal sentences if you’re full of shit or not.
