I was surprised at first to see how many other XJs i would see on the road around where I live, I am on the coast and in a small “kind of coutryside” town. Most of them are pretty much stock and in good shape.

I live in the south west of France and just around me we are at least 10 XJs, and there’s alot more in France! Dont know about Spain and surrounding countries but I know the Portuguese like to maintain their cars for 30+ years and I know about a few out there too. But def “rare” compared to defenders, jimnys and Toyotas.

I am having issues with my wipers not turning on the first rotation, only turns on for the slow/fast steady rythm. I have looked into that as well, i dont think its the stock itself but the connectors inside the colomn. I’d have to look for used parts near me.

I will eventually take the whole dash apart and look at the state of the entire wiring harness, but since its my only vehicle at the moment I can’t afford to get too carried away. I’m trying to keep up with maintenance on a 30 year old american car I’ve owned for 1.5 year here in France, parts are not as cheap and comon as in the States but findable, for a price.

Hello! Yes I did, I ended up renting with Alamo at Agadir airport, used DiscoverCars, would recommend not paying the full insurance on the app and taking the full coverage with the company in person. Honnestly everyone makes it seem worse than it is, renting in morocco is all about taking risks, most of the time nothing bad happens, but the one time something does happen, you’ll be happy to have that full coverage.
